Took 8 lbs or so of HW pellets and a cup of gypsum, mixed decently in a 5 gallon bucket, boiled about 5 qts of water, and added an appropriate amount of lime after letting it cool to about 200F then immediately added it to the bucket and put a lid, set it in my bathroom/lab to cool lol
gonna make a mono out of it, what does everyone think? how many quarts of spawn would everyone suggest? Gonna try King Oysters and reishi first.
will post pictures of finished work, and in the future will make a full log if I am contam free consistently

No on the king oysters, they need a ton of fresh air, however people up in MushCult grow those reishi monotubs, Pastywhite or someone from up there I bet knows the right volume of sub and spawn to use.

Kings do not need a ton of FAE. You just have to be careful not to have to high of RH or you may encounter blotch problems.

No need for gypsum, Oyster strains don't utilize calcium very much, more than enough in paper to grow oysters.
My fruit box worked fine for Golden oyster which needs lots of FAE, done at 80-85% RH. I will be doing the same Tek with my King oysters too.
It's essentially a SGFC, with adjustable lid.
