Bernie WAS anti establishment, Trump IS anti establishment, he's the independent moderate everyone had been begging for. The switch from Bernie, who turned out to be a sellout to Wall Street, to Trump is not hard to understand

How did Bernie sell out to Wall Street?

He formally endorsed Hillary, like he said he would over a year ago, and thats that.

He isnt campaigning for her, hes left the Democratic party, he refuses to hand over his email list despite offering it to legislative candidates he's endorsed.

You're fucking delusional. When Trump drops out, becauses hes been Hillarys trojan horse all along, will you finally drop the pom poms?

We KNOW Bernie was fucked from the start, its a fact. Trump is just a means to an end for the pro-Clinton establishment.

i'm sorry, but endorsing someone who holds completely opposite views as oneself, whether or not they said they would do it a year ago, is selling out.  so he kept his word.  okay.  he's still selling out his platform for someone who WILL NOT carry out his agenda, despite whatever she claims

edit:  so i checked bernie's site. no mention of him being out of the presidential running.  nothing about it from any newsource that i can find.  is he still a candidate or not?

He didnt sell out his platform.

He kept his promise to endorse Hillary for the sole purpose of PRESERVING his platform, getting his agenda on the official DNC platform and forcing Hillary to publicly adopt (most of) his positions.

Its politics, dude. He couldve stomped off like a 6 year old and got nothing, instead he got the most progressive dem platform since FDR. Progress.

hillary will not carry out any agenda other than her own, regardless of what she publicly agreed to.  public agreement is in no way binding in this matter.  all that can happen when she inevitably does what she wants is vocal backlash, which is of no consequence to her, obviously.

like i said, it's great that he kept his word.  shows SOME degree of integrity.  but to support someone that is opposed in many key ways to oneself, that is selling out.

How did his "promise" go over at the DNC?  All I heard was boos for the first two days.

In that case, Hillary is more of a sell out for adopting 80% of Bernie's platform simply for his endorsement.

He could have been an abrasive asshole from the start, and he wouldve never made it this far. You gotta play the game to get shit done. You think MLK liked LBJ? You think FDR liked Stalin? Like I said, politics.

And the fact that many of his supporters lamented his endorsement just goes to show how hollow it really was. Bernie supporters dont need a permission slip from Bernie on who to vote for, it was never about him: it was about us. Our message.

How do you figure that?

Most progressive DNC platform since FDR.

Even if the only thing that gets done is an amendment overturning CU, his campaign will be arguably more progressive than the last 8 years of Obama.

you keep posting as if Bernie's platform will persist.  it was a show.  the show is serving it's purpose.  once hillary is elected, the show will be over, and all will be business as usual

what's so hard to understand about this?

If not for a collusion of media and DNC, Bernie would have been elected POTUS. In the face of corporate media, red baiting, the clinton machine, and a campaign run solely on individual donations, and he almost won.

Biggest grassroots political org in history. All these people are gonna change their minds about politics? Theyre just gonna stop voting?

No. The progressive movement is here to stay.

i don't deny that.  he certainly brought issues to the forefront and increased overall awareness among those willing to listen.

but to think that hillary is going to continue his platform, abandoning her own, or incorporate into her presidency any ideals of bernie's that don't mesh with her own, is naivety, nay foolishness.  to think that hilary has somehow been transformed from a run-of-the-mill corporatocracy mindset to a progressive is also foolish.  she and her business partners'/fellow politicans' financial interests are not going to be compromised

edit: also, do you really think the electoral college would overwhelmingly vote bernie for president?

I have the same fear as you, though I think the word "foolishness" is too strong.  It might happen (but I'm not counting on it).

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

If trump drops out, I'd be pretty disappointed, but at least Hillary isn't anti fracking like that retard Bernie was. I may not be a Hillary fan, but I know she'll be loads better than Bernie the crazy rape freakshow

Let's skip over the ad hominem again...how is fracking a good thing? There have been earthquakes in places that have never had earthquakes before, at least, not before fracking was used to pull oil out of the ground in those areas. Geological fault lines are showing up in places where they have absolutely no business being according to modern geology and plate tectonic theory, with the only difference being fracking. This seems to me a bit like the idea of pollution not having anything to do with climate change. It pretty obviously does, but people still prefer to shut their ears and yell "lalala".
