Trust, and earning it. * 3
    #23496266 - 07/31/16 04:49 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

So today I'm at my place, and my good old "deer" shows up to visit, her little Bambi is sketchy, but she shows the usual trust.  Having cultivated this over the past two years with this particular deer, it's not a surprise.

The Bambi isn't so sure, and as mom saunters down the hill, stays above and mews or whatever noise they make.  That deer knows exactly what I mean when I say to go down with mom, everything is just OK and I won't hurt you.  Mom stands below eating plums and agreeing with me.

Bambi finally agrees too and it's so fun at least to me when an animal that doesn't trust humans for the most part does and we can all agree that it's better to not be eaten than to be eaten.

Establishing trust and maintaining it is the hardest most important thing in the world.  Unfortunately humans aren't to be trusted, but there's always the animal kingdom...

That's awesome. It really is beautiful, just the other day I looked a squirrel straight to the core of its soul through its eyes
and began talking to it like a mother does her baby.
After his initial adrenaline rush settled he began to advance to me with curiosity,
and then I started ruffling in the leaves and ground searching for acorns with him.
We were working together, so naturally without clocking in to the mechanics of civilization and neurosis.

Fail.

The flip side of earning trust, is distrust.

Really, it's a hypothetical question.  I would never expect you to get tired of trolling, you have stated on here that trolling to you is better than sex.  Or something like that, perhaps I'm fishing for the truth here.  Anyway, stalkers stalk, trollers troll, haters hate.

You've earned your troller stripes! Sgt Troller 3 stripes!  Congrats!

BTW these are Non GMO chemtrails in this video, so fucking suck them in, and enjoy!

No, it was the video with the chick in it, not this one, fucking numb nuts.  LOL.  Chemtrails, not contrails.  WTF.

The truth is closer to the heart than your fishy trolling.

The animal kingdom does not think beyond immediate need and does not have foreknowledge of one's own individual dissolution. Pure survival for the NOW, and that's it. It is the fear of death because of the foreknowledge of it that causes us to be so untrustworthy as a species.

The solution to the problem is to accept that death is inevitable for anything living, to acknowledge that the idea of OWNERSHIP is a fraud, and to share our resources according to genuine need on a voluntary basis and with compassion.

To make a change of this nature occur would require an event that would cause the Human race to experience collectively it's very worst fears, then at the same time once we accept we are doomed, be shown mercy.

A highly advanced alien race visiting the Earth and claiming that it is their own planet and blatantly asserting their POTENTIAL to use the Earth we live on however they wish would fill the bill.

For example, if they used their technology, power, and authority to wield it, by rendering our most powerful weapons useless- then when we think the worst is coming, showing mercy... We come to teach, not to punish nor destroy. Only that delusion which you held so dear will die by our hand. You are not alone in the Universe.

--------------------
"Love one another." "To Love is to know me." "Love is the Law, Love under Will." "In Compassion, all sorrows end." Regardless of the Master, the message is the same- Choose love and you shall live, Choose Fear and you shall die. Help bring peace to this Earth: Love one another, and serve others before yourself.

how do you define immediate?  how do you define now?

do you have proof of your claim?

why would animals spend weeks or longer caching food if they weren't thinking into the future?  why would deer constantly move from patch to patch to graze, as opposed to eating everything down to the ground, preventing regrowth?

I trusted my beloved parrot until one day he spontaneously viciously attacked me while I was filling his food dish with delicious birdie food. Now I only trust my other parrot.

Interesting point you make.

Is it possible some animals are neurologically hard-wired to cache food,
or gorge themselves, without having thoughts about the future?

Take, for example, the fat house cat.

Is a very fat cat (that can hardly move about), really thinking about the possibility of going hungry
in the future, or is it's eating behavior a type of unconscious instinctive reflex?

I believe the expression is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," but clearly that definition is relegated to physical beauty, not the transcendental ideal of Plato which is imputed to all physical beauty. Trust is the nature of an empathetic relationship. For 27 years I held a position in the 4th largest school system in the USA called TRUST Specialist. We were crisis intervention specialists, and sadly, our role was to be trusted by adolescents with the worst situations they had experienced. Without their trust in us, they never would have disclosed some of the abuses they were subject to, and we in turn were then trusted to act accordingly to protect them from further harm and get them the appropriate treatment.

Conversely, I have experienced betrayals of trust in my life, from acquaintances and friends hitting on or sleeping with my girlfriends, to an unfaithful, thieving, lying, ex-wife. I know both the pain and the relief that distrust and trust engenders. I have grown in discernment, yet in order to be trustworthy, one has to trust others, even those whose own trustworthiness seems questionable. It is always a risk to be vulnerable, but while armoring oneself psychologically protects one from others, it simultaneously prevents one from touching those whom one wants to connect with. Trusting nobody does not cultivate trustworthiness and hence empathy. One then moves in the opposite direction from empathy which means increasing alienation, isolation, and objectification of other human beings. At the far end of the continuum is psychopathy characterized by the marked absence of empathy.

Empathy is the eye of Compassion.

personally, i'd say the fat house cat exists because: 1) it's being fed corn and meat-by-products, 2) it's not allowed to be outside

#2 has psychological ramifications, beyond the degree of exercise, often depression.  it is well documented that humans tend to attempt numbing depression through food, often "junk" foods (which are ironically largely composed of corn or corn by-products [hfcs/lfcs], or animal fats)

let's say caching is hardwired.  if the animal chooses to continue living, it caches.  the desire to continue living, is that not seeing ahead of its present state?  if it can differentiate now, and then....

woke up a couple days ago, went out to take a pee.

mama and baby deer gave me the version of an ok you're alright, when they look at you and their body stays relaxed, one tail wag.  baby to the side just watching me and relaxed.  bright and early, gave me a laugh and i said hi to them.  when you verbalize to an animal and they react positively it's always a good sign.

Today Momma Deer and Baby Deer tried to commit suicide by both running in front of my van.  Fortunately I didn't have their back and slowed down.

Baby Deer is getting bigger and very cute.

Yesterday Momma Deer and Baby Deer wandered past me without seeing me until the last moment.  Literally both 10 ft away.  They gave me the startled look and turned around, but paused and smiled too.
