Partially. I'm a muslim, a christian, a jew, a hindu, a buddhist and a scientist.
A little of everything, the best of all things.
Draw strength from it, even if the religion or orientation is not your own.
There is much we can learn from Islam too, don't mistake it.
Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Real wisdom, there is a lot that too many people in this would could take away from that man.

I like your style.
I am the same way, have been delving deeper into Buddhism recently though, I really enjoy it.

couldn't one also pose that it is equally as good to be none of those things? if there's no baby or bathwater, there's nothing to throw[out], and all the happiness still to gain

I definitely do not belong to a religion that mandates death for gay people and infant genital mutilation.

Religion has been corrupted throughout time by us. Do not trust it. Trust only what you feel is right and wrong in this world. Throw that word out of your fucking vocabulary, religion. With the new Pope, I do have some sliver of hope for the Vatican. Which gives me courage to think other religions can change too.
I don't mean to discredit religion as there are many things we can learn from all of them. More or less the fact that we have twisted it's words to fit our own understanding of this world of which we know nothing.
We've all believed in something greater than ourselves. Whether it was interpreted as many things to a people or a single entity. It does not matter. It's the only constant throughout our written history.

I got a Master's degree, don't recall being commanded to nuke anyone.
The holy texts of Abrahamism say explicitly that gay people should be murdered.
Pretty big difference to me.

It's taken the ideas of each religion and used it for it's own end. The Devil's work lol. No but seriously, they're full of shit. Their holy scriptures were written by men who know nothing.
I despise secular religions even more than the originals.

Religion was created to divide us, we should not listen to religions or follow each others paths, God has nothing to do with religion, the only being that is being worshipped is satan, God is the supreme reality, where we truly see how we're all the same person, humans animals aliens and insects, all connected. if we were given the truth about God, there would be no war, or competition, or jobs. satan will do everything possible to keep us divided so he/she can continue to be worshipped.

Sadness is an energy -- almost identical to the other afflictive ones -- to quote the wonderful William Blake -

1 John 4:8 states that God = love
Since humans are prone to hate, how does love not play a part in the message of religion?

Religions are stories. These stories have underlying themes, motifs, and symbols. Through these sublimal messages the writers try to teach good from evil. But there are people who misinterpret the text. They use the text to their benefit instead of helping others. Those people are the ones who try to divide us.

Man it is so hard to love you when you are being so fucking retarded. Why do you want the pain? Can't you see you are destroying humanity's potential. Crucify the ego before its too fucking late you fucking dirty monkey fuck!!

Its okay to be sad, it's not okay to be inconsiderate. Sadness is better than happiness because we lack pride, when we are proud we're arrogant and opinionated. We can still take advantage of feeling sorry for ourselves though, and craving attention but we shouldn't shame each other, it leaves us to neglect being ashamed of ourself.
