now all "dl-torrent" links link to offsite ads or have a 404
isohunt don't work, pb links will load through a client, but then just hang with no data
worst is i'm only trying to get ebooks. tried about 20 different ebook sites and they're all terrible shitty, with the exception of gutenbergproject which is somewhat limited for what i'm hunting

use soulseek.
http://www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/1
You have to share to download though, but you can set your download folder and your share folder differently, and it has options to only share with people you add to your list.
So you search for a band or album, find the album, right click "add to list" ( if thats the option you choose instead of open share ) then right click again "download folder" It's P2P but it has 10x the amount of music you'll find on any torrent site. Movies go a little slower but they're also there.

Soulseek shreds kazaa, napster, limewire, any of those.
It's soooooo good. It has a larger library of music than any program I have ever used, and since they upgraded to soulseekQT it's way more user friendly.
As long as you share with the person you are downloading from you're good to go.
Like I even find all the local music I am searching for on there, you just gotta search for it a few extra times sometimes waiting for the person to be online.
I haven't used torrents in years because of it. Super quick download times too.

I have heard good things about bearshare, but I have never not found what I'm looking for on soulseek so I haven't ever switched.
Like sun city girls have 99+ albums, some of them are lost in translation. The band even said if anyone had cassettes from the 80's-90's of certain ones they would pay them for a copy of it because they don't even have it. I got up to 65 of their albums off soulseek. A few were so rare.
When music gets leaked early it's on soulseek almost immediately.
I got the new radiohead and gorija days before they came out.......new radiohead may be the album of the year for me so far.

i pretty much used them all back in the day. each had different peers with different files. that's cool that you are able to find lots of local stuff on there.
did radiohead return to a sound similar to their first 3 albums, or is it more of the electronic, glitchy crap of the near past?

It reminds me of hail to the thief and ok computer combined with perfect production quality.
Ok computer is my favorite by them, and so far I think this is almost as good if not equal.
They really do a lot with their instruments and the songs have amazing groove.
Highly recommended.

It's got some of the electro stuff like king of limbs, but way more instrument style stuff like their older stuff.
