Going on vacation. Have a few questions

Hello FunGuys! I write this post not in hopes of you doing research for me. I have read many forums and guides on the matter. However, I have some questions that the videos and forums did not cover. Mainly because they are pretty specific to my case. If a monotub is not the direction I need to go in please let me know or if there are any modifications i can do to help my scenario out I would be deeply appreciated. I have (10) half pint jars almost colonized. Sorry the album is not titled individually. I took a bunch of quick photos to show the progress of mycellium:https://imgur.com/a/8yjsE 7/10 are around 60% and the other 3 are around 25/30% At the time of this post they have been incubating for 17 days. I will be leaving for a trip in 5 days for 12 days. I have read that you should leave them for 10 extra days after you see the outside fully colonized to ensure a contamination free environment. I have the time and resources available to set up my fruiting chamber before i leave(if they are ready) I will be out of state but there will be someone around that can look after and make adjustments while I am gone. My Question: 1)Since the Shotgun Fruiting chamber requires daily maintenance I assume that this is out of the question. If I were to break up the cakes and put them in the manure/verm substrate before I leave, Will i be gone too long before they need to start fruiting? 2) Can you use the bagged "black cow manure" from the home improvement stores? if not, can I use field manure. It is literally next door to me, I am just afraid of the feed that they feed the cows to kill field spores may inhibit my mushrooms. 3) If i pressure cook the verm/manure substrate, will it make my pressure cooker smell like shit? And if so, Is it possible to run with this method and bypass the pressure cooker? (double boiler?) 4)By living in Florida in the summertime will I have to worry about humidity as much? The complaints I have read seem to target humidity issues, and i can attest that there is no humidity shortage right now! 5)As of now I have not spotted any contamination.(we used a still air box, gloves, turned off ac. we were very sterile and i am quite proud of ourselves.) So assuming all 10 jars make it to 100% colonization will one monotub be enough. I have read that people use 3 pints per tub so i figured I would do (2) 2.5 pint tubs. 6)With the SGFC method you would just put the cakes out of the jars and then dunk them to flush again, yet I have read of second flushes in monotubs. How does this work? 7)If I decide not to fruit them yet, will they be safe to stay in the 1/2 pint jars until i return from my trip and then move forward with recolonizing the new substrate for monotubs? tl;dr I have 10 colonized BRF jars and will be going out of town for 12 days. I need to know if i can continue or if I need to stall somehow. (I have read that putting the jars in the fridge will help slow down inoculation.) Thanks for any help and advice --edit: I want to add that i have a indoor worm garden. Could I use my organic vermiculture instead of cow manure?

I would just leave em in the jars. Extra long consolidation is good for em. Can stall them in the fridge as well
2) Can you use the bagged "black cow manure" from the home improvement stores? if not, can I use field manure. It is literally next door to me, I am just afraid of the feed that they feed the cows to kill field spores may inhibit my mushrooms.
You need to mix the cpoo with coir or straw or something. On its own it becomes mud. I would do 60% coir, 15% verm, 15% cpoo
3) If i pressure cook the verm/manure substrate, will it make my pressure cooker smell like shit? And if so, Is it possible to run with this method and bypass the pressure cooker? (double boiler?)
Never pressure cook manure or straw. Those must be pasteurized
4)By living in Florida in the summertime will I have to worry about humidity as much? The complaints I have read seem to target humidity issues, and i can attest that there is no humidity shortage right now!
It is not going to help or hurt. Sporeload is the real concern in summer
Depends on how big the mono is. Would be way to low for a 66 quart mono but just right for a 20 quart mono.
6)With the SGFC method you would just put the cakes out of the jars and then dunk them to flush again, yet I have read of second flushes in monotubs. How does this work?
You worry too much. Bulk has lots of water. We don't dunk bulk the same as cakes anyways. More like floating the sub for an hour instead.
7)If I decide not to fruit them yet, will they be safe to stay in the 1/2 pint jars until i return from my trip and then move forward with recolonizing the new substrate for monotubs?
Sure
tl;dr I have 10 colonized BRF jars and will be going out of town for 12 days. I need to know if i can continue or if I need to stall somehow. Thank you so much!
The guides i read said to put the manure/coir/verm mix in oven bags and pressure cook. How would you pasteurize?
You said that sporeload is the real concern. could you elaborate?
For the 20 quart mono, would that be all 10 (1/2 pint) jars in one 20 quart tub? Or 5 jars in each?

Coir and verm you can pressure cook or sterilize or boil or whatever, it's manure you need to pasteurize. You could do it in jars or a bag in a big pot, with a meat thermometer or something to take the temp. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17246844/fpart/all/vc/1
In the humid summer lots of shit is growing outside and jizzing into the air, hence high sporeload. Contamination will be somewhat more likely than colder months.

I would have to worry about contamination even indoors? My RBF cakes are doing well. Or should i worry about getting the poo from outside?

Indoors is where you worry the most about contams. Outdoors contams don't matter so much which is why we put contamed substrates outside.

Assuming you don't have completely separate air indoors, like if you were living in some kind of isolated vac chamber for anthrax victims, then you can assume that all the mold spores and bacteria from outside are flying around inside as well.
Doesn't really matter where the poo came from if it's pasteurized before you use it.

Rodger that.
I was under the assumption that once the substrate was colonized that you wouldnt have to worry so much about contamination.
If monotub is out of the question for me what would you suggest for my fruiting chamber instead?

Why is a mono out of the question again?
You don't have to worry about contamination with colonized substrates usually but every substrate has SOME degree of bacteria, and the more bacteria, the higher the chance of molds or other shit taking over. So, a bacterial substrate in a really humid, high sporeload area is more susceptible than one on the summit of a nice cool dry mountain.
And that sporeload doesn't just affect your colonized substrates. It can also reduce your chances at any and all sterile work, and docking a few % off your inoculation success chance can be a real bitch.

I guess what I am asking is given my location, what is the smartest move going forward when i come back from my trip. The jars will be consolidated and ready for fruiting. Will it be wise to break them apart and try to colonize a monotub? Or is there a better option? I have read a lot about the shotgun tubs but monotub seems to be the best route.
Other than working in a still air box and practicing sterile work procedures are there any other ways to minimize contamination in summer?

Since you have half pint cakes you should really be making a SGFC and fruiting them as cakes. If you can't do that, then cakes weren't a good choice to start with. I suppose you could break them up and spawn to a mono, but cakes work well because they're cakes, once you take that away from them they're a pretty poor choice of spawn.

Thank you so much for all the help! There is so much information out there it can really make your head spin when finding the best way to grow.
After these fruit and we make spore prints, what is the prefered way to colonize a monotub. I saw videos where people made spawn bags, but i assumed that was broken up cakes. Is it colonized with the rye seed method instead?

choose a grain, prep it, sterilize it, inoculate it, let it colonize, spawn to bulk.
"the grass seed tek" or "the popcorn tek" doesnt really say much, there's 1000s of write ups called "popcorn tek" etc, some are really dumb while some are just popcorn prep.

Follow good time tested and results proven methods. Click the first two links in my signature then find the recommended methods threads there. Follow good directions get results. Popcorn is a poor grain choice
