Seed grown. Will be one year old in a few months I think.

I'm hoping for flowers during its second year.

I love how it's going around after hitting the ceiling, like "where do I go from here?"

if you're really in france you'll never see its flowers... I had one for 4 or 5 years, it became a monster but never flowered (was indoor during winter, outdoor during summer, around Paris, now that I'm in south of France maybe it could be different...) it's a great plant though, grow crazily, nice large leaves and the shinny hairs and "nectar" drops, don't give up !!

Paris has no sun compared to where I live. I may never see the flowers but I keep some hope.

How did you put it outdoors in summer ? Heavy pruning ? Because mine grew meters of vines in winter.

Pruned it hard (I left no leaves, just the trunk and some areoles.) and put it outdoors this spring. She almost died during a cold night but survived.
She was slow at the beginning, kept growing only leaves but now she's throwing 3 vines.

I may put her in a bigger pot before the vines will be out of control.

I grew one from seed about 4 months ago. 5 leaves, no vines yet. They're cool plants; I look forward to it climbing on my walls.

Put a cage around the container, or get a trellis that will fit into your container. That way you can cut back anything that jumps off the trellis/cage and then easily move the plant while keeping the majority of the foliage.

I had a nervosa for about five years.
My brother's cat killed it last year by repetitively pissing on it.
I still get upset thinking about it :nonono:

She found something to climb on  And the second vine is climbing on the first. Third vine has not started to climb yet.

This winter, I'll cut the vines, put in indoors in a south/west facing window and put it outdoors again in late april.

Do you think it can benefit in being planted in the ground ? I mean, if I do that, I'll have to trim the roots and pot it to put in indoors during the winter.

some quote i found

"The plant can start growing flowers as early as its life cycle's second year. For this to occur, there must be sufficient watering and adequate room for the roots to grow; it can take up to five years for the first signs of flowering to become visible."
