Hey hey everyone, so i recently relocated and went on my first little hike to see what i could find in my new home, man was i ever suprised! Im not really sure what anything was i found so feel free to id anyof it, i will provide excess info as needed. Really only worried about anything that might be psychoactive or just plain yummy! But anyways here is a drop box link of what all the pictures i took (around 60)

You've don't have anything active there but you do have a few species of amanitas, just not muscaria. I see at least Amanita parcivolvata, Amanita jacksonii, Amanita phalloides. The classic red amanita muscaria you're talking about doesn't grow in your are. You'd be looking for Amanita Amerimuscaria, or Amanita muscaria var. guessowii. One of the defining characteristics of muscaria is the density of the warts on the cap. You can look here for some more info:

You do have something yummy there which is the Sparassis crispa, or Cauliflower mushroom. That's the only thing I see for sure that is edible.

I didn't view the pics, but if you live in NC, you don't have anything active.

I think that will be just once per year, but it should come back in the spot next year.

This isn't true at all. You can use this for a reference: https://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area

I never really expected to, i hunt for the thrill of the hunt, finding new things, like the one i found bigger than my head. If i find something fun or yummy then awesome. If not oh well. But yeah about 5 active strains grow in my area tho.
