The number is just the recycling code. The pp is what you are looking for. It stands for polypropylene. Anything with pp on it should be good as far as i know.

oh.. well the things with 7 only said "OTHER" where the PP is under the triangle with the 5 in the center of it. if 7 can be PC'd then there are quite a few bottles that could be really perfect for pouring agar and even blenderless LI.

The tesco value salad cream does not have a self sealing port, just a small hole. I wonder if water would readily drip from a needle though, if held upside down.
The resin ID codes are here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin_identification_code
“1” signifies that the product is made out of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) (beverage bottles, cups, other packaging, etc.) “2” signifies high-density polyethylene (HDPE) (bottles, cups, milk jugs, etc.) “3” signifies polyvinyl chloride (PVC) (pipes, siding, flooring, etc.) “4” signifies low-density polyethylene (LDPE) (plastic bags, six-pack rings, tubing, etc.) “5” signifies polypropylene (PP) (auto parts, industrial fibers, food containers, etc.) “6” signifies polystyrene (PS) (plastic utensils, Styrofoam, cafeteria trays, etc.) “7” signifies other plastics, such as acrylic, nylon, polycarbonate and polylactic acid (PLA).

hmmm wonder if any of those under 7, Other, are PC-able.. i guess since it is something that encompasses a lot of different types of material that it would probably be better off not to test it. since it could be one of many, many different types.
