Just thoughts on religion

I know religion gets a bad rap for being blamed for wars and blah blah blah.
But that's not what I wanna talk about. I just wanna share a basic idea as to why I think religion exists for some people.
I think religion stems from a love of people. And the pain we feel from losing them when they die.
Like, have you ever lost a parent, a sibling, or a best friend?
The desire of an idea that they are still alive somewhere. In an afterlife. And that there's a promise that you'll be able to meet them again one day.
I think that's why people have faith. To hold onto that hope.

I think what you're saying is accurate. But more accurately I would go on to claim that even what you said above stems from fear. Fear is the root cause of religion. Fear of death, fear of end, fear of loss, fear of not knowing. Losing a relative and hoping they are still out there somewhere is just fear.

did you know your best friend before you knew them? or your parents before you knew them? If not then why do you want to ALWAYS be their friend for ever and ever and ever. Same with parents. Why aren't all people, all species our family?

'Religion' is just principles locked in doctrine.
You can understand and follow similar principles without following any kind of religion and there are many popular texts which pertain to religion and aren't religion in their own right.
The true fear is letting go of the self. Fear for the educated (those who have actually read religious texts) may stem too from something they have read which rings true to their core but their ego revolts against.
When you let go of the self (to a degree), live more freely and move with the tide of existence, you begin to understand some principles in religions, because they simply 'are'. They flow as fact as true as the sky is blue.
The tree needs to bend in the wind to work with nature - to bend a Confucian quote, so your rigid defence is often your own demise.
It's not easy, it's not always a consistent affair, but it's the answer.

Fear is an attachment to a form in time. In an attempt to circumvent the inevitable loss of physical form in time, a thought construct is created (Ego) and projected indefinitely into time as a thought given a form. A constructed thought-form requires energy to maintain it's existence in time resulting in what we call physical life.
The foreknowledge of the loss of individual physical form feeds this thought form, causing the manifestation of life and death as we know it. You can see this blatantly manifested as life feeds on light, feeds on life, and again and again into more and more predatory forms of life.
Religion is a construct by which we attempt to project our ego selves into time beyond the physical existence, it is based upon fear. Spirituality is the genuine desire to understand our true selves, it is based upon love.
You don't have to live in fear anymore for you were never born and never will you die, only the delusion of form and ego that will die. Just who is the ultimate apex predator who consumes and devours all forms?
-------------------- "Love one another." "To Love is to know me." "Love is the Law, Love under Will." "In Compassion, all sorrows end." Regardless of the Master, the message is the same- Choose love and you shall live, Choose Fear and you shall die. Help bring peace to this Earth: Love one another, and serve others before yourself.

It's interesting hearing people's thoughts on my thought. I don't know if I truly think it stems from fear for alot of ppl, more so desire. I mean like pink Floyd says, can't fear death cuz it's inevitable, right?
This whole train of thought just came out of the blue, remembering close loved ones I had lost in the past. And yeah, I have a strong desire to believe I will see them again one day.
I sometimes dream about ppl over lost in the past. And it hurts because I don't feel like it's a genuine connection to ppl in the afterlife. It's just my thoughts about them translated into the subconcious.
