What is Something You Learned from a Psychedelic Trip?
    #23483801 - 07/27/16 08:59 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

https://solairestalskie.bandcamp.com/track/the-river-robs-song

I made this song inspired in large by a spiritual trip I had down by Wishpoosh, a campground near the Cle Elum lake. My brother and I meditated for the come up by a large cotton wood and then roamed around the woods till sunset. He did 1.5 grams and I did about 2.1 grams, so it wasn't a really heavy trip but one full of beautiful questions, feelings, and laughter about existence.

I learned that day that my struggle for productivity could be easily cured by my will if I just cultivated my focus.I've learned so many things from my perceptual changes from weed, LSD, and mushrooms that it's difficult to know what was made by it and what wasn't. It think all in all it helped me cultivate my higher self and greatly diminish my ego so I don't worry what I look like in public as much.

I'm always amazed by how simple it can be to enjoy life and how beautiful life is when you look at the "painting" in the right way.

I don't know shiiiiiiiiiiiit

--------------------
How to get started in bulk:
Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker
BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box
PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek
Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series
How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs)
What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain)
Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

That is a really beautiful song, and the way you sing is very unique and sensitive. Got prickles coming over me

I love how you are singing about nature. I do this too, but in different styles. More a primitive gospel style and what I am calling 'real song'. Let me ask you this: OK we know about Jazz and rap, when you improvise and freeflow. But have you ever heard of say using another song's groove and then improvising words over it, so that every time you get the groove (which itself can change, depending) you spontaneously sing different words. Ever heard of this?

Now one old gospel song I like which Aretha has done is 'Never Grow Old' and is all about sining about this 'spiritual' land where you go and you 'live on, and on, and on'

I USED to sing it that way, but learnt that when you sing, make music especially when deeply emotional, that IF what you ding about is dogmatic this has effect on you willy nilly, so i now change lyrics to mean a more earth-centred way. That is I say how THIS land is the magical spiritual land, and I improvize this theme ongoingly which I call real song

I have learnt SO much from both LSD and SHROOM experience. it is infinite, though will tell you one good lesson. I realized you can be both deeply serious and giggling like a clown at the same time!

I learned from tripping that its OK to open myself up and BE ME, even though other people may think i'm wrong, unsightly or delusional. Its their problem, not mine.

Being you as you are, without infringing on others, cures what ails you.

Good song.

I'm happy you loved the song, It feels great to know it meant something. Prickles haha! and yes I have heard of this, I do my best to create real songs. I try to improvise the melody I feel and keep the process free flowing. The groove for The River isn't a unique one, it's similar to Going to California, it just felt right though so I tried to take it to a new place. They say the best songs are written over and over again!

Being deeply serious and giggling about how silly life is helps keeps me alive haha. Thanks for the thoughts.

Yeah, I feel that a lot. One of my good friends from high school went too far into this ideology though and became Schizotypal. Everything in balance, one can't take all the things you feel from hallucinogens as fact but certainly not everything felt is meaningless or delusional.

Thanks for listening to song, I happy you said something.

I like this.  I think the ego is directly controlled by the subconscious, and that the fundamental layer of the subconscious is an infinite consciousness, which is in a way a sort of higher power.  It is definitely a higher dimension.  And I feel that it goes higher than that.

I rather like to see this__in the olden days the mystery (which the solar phallic patriarchal mindset demonized and suppressed) was called the Underworld, Hades, and in Celtic mythos it was the Land of Faerie. The Abrahamic beliefs made out via propaganda that these deep places were 'Hell', and threatened all manner of torture everlastingly. Well, because they wanted to warn people off from exploring their depths, and as it interconnects with nature
In modern times, especially via Jung the so-called 'Underworld' becomes 'the unconscious', and it can be 'seen' as the dark side of consciousness. Dark as in, canot be seen'grasped by the rational grasping focused conscious  function of mind. This part of mind when it identifies with itself and dissociates itself with this mysterious darker part of its being and reality FEARS it, and calls it names like chaos, hell, evil, etc etc In solar phallic myths its sun god heroes crash into the underworld seeing monsters and killing them, usually female 'mosters', like Perseus beheading Medusa

Shroom tripping opens this up. We explore the mystery which can't be grasped... We become more conscious of the unconscious, of the underworld~~~

Probably the majority of my adult life is based from Mushrooms, they showed me there is nothing more powerful than Love so I became a being of Love and emit Light to my fullest potential; so that's what I do now.

One trip in particular showed me the universe was inside of me, it showed me happiness was within the self, and from that day on I only relied on myself. It's been working great.

Asante made a good point as well, more importantly they taught me to be happy with my own thoughts, self and being there is endless possibilities, they showed me to not be held back or stressed by simple human instincts and desires, but to be me, and be happy being me!

There's a lot of Delusion/Schizophrenic mix up in the middle of an awakening, some people are going to believe in the mystic, some will believe it's a brain disorder, that's the difference.

But in the end you never know what really is "real" or not "real" as it's all real!

In The Magical World One seeks Enlightenment and grows Wiser
In The Miraculous World One seeks nothing and grows Lighter
As we all tread the Homeward Path we will explore many Realms
And one day... we will all Realize that all experiences are Simply
Different ways in which The
All-That Is
Perceives Itself"

I've learned a few things:

There's soooo much to be grateful for

I'd be bored without all the drama I moan about

I create my own dramas!

There's nothing more thrilling than being my true self

Happiness is in being totally and utterly head over heels in love

You can reach a 5th dimension which allows you to access infinite amounts of information at any point in time inside the spectrum of light. You have to trip balls with crystal bowl sound to get there and there is no way to process the information you can only experience it on a 4th dimensional level.

You can't exactly process it through the mind, it takes years of incorporation - but you can FEEL what it is offering, and the main message is Love. The state of Nirvana is very humbling, it changes you for a life time.

YES! You know what I'm talking about. The last one I had I was experiencing a silver back gorilla in some sort of rain forest. Nothing but just being. Lounging around chewing on twigs n shit. Every time I tried to think about how awesome it was or look around it would glitch out. I had to just experience what was going on and give in. Reminded me of staring into one of those 3-D posters where you have to unfocus your eyes for a while to see it.

I attained a lot of self-awareness from my experience, nearly every aspect of life felt more content then it was before, I also overcame some tedious social anxiety following my experience. In a sense it wasn't indiviually just the trip that caused this awe like hysterical happiness, it was all of the questioning about life and reality that I had after it.

I wish OP was asking what was learned from psychedelic trip, instead of just focusing on shrooms, because my hugely dramatic learning experiences didn't originally come from shrooms which I didn't even know existed at the time and until 8 years later! They came from LSD.
I love telling this story: Altough only 15 when turned onto acid, I had by then been indoctrinated by 'education' and the culture in general to be totally numbed/dulled to the natural world, and completely obsessed by big cities. By 8/9 I was bored in nature and just longed for theme parks or big cities, and round about 10/11 all the sleazy side of city life too, the neon, and rock stars taking heroin, and wearing shades---all that I found attractive. So ironically it was IN a big city, which I had gone to train in dance, London, where I was turned onto LSD

This was the real deal LSD, and mindblowing. I saw matter as alive, breathing, flowing, rippling, and in the 'come downs' we would go walkabout outside at dawn, past peoples gardens full of flowers, bushes, trees, and into parks, and it was here I began to really experience nature as ALIVE!!! And felt deeply connected to it, and ever since this has inspired me to explore why the prevailing oppressive 'world' is so against the natural world, and sadistic. Exactly like I was getting until my fateful 15th year

I cannot express in words what a truly amazing wonderful inspiration all this was and has been. it fears me greatly these evil people in power, and their supporters) who are way older than I was and continue with their deadness and insanity

In mythology the real meaning of 'raising from the dead' was never meant to be taken literally, as in physical resurrection, but this waking out of a dulled dead rigid bodymind into a world and universe of aliveness (which does not exclude the dynamic of life and death and regeneration of course)

Once I ate a gram of cubes.  Now I know that is not very much.  It's a stupid small amount.  But I put the pillow over my head and slowly darkness set in.

Eventually I started hearing a noise.  A high pitched whining.  It got louder and soon I was afraid that if I kept listening to it, it would kill me.  But I couldn't stop listening to it.  It got louder and louder and then.... boom, there I was.

Not really I was, nothing was.  I was in a void where there was nothing.  No sound.  No thoughts.  I had no concept of where I was, what I was, when I was.  There was only one thing and that was awareness.  Oddly, the awareness was of awareness and nothing else.

This went on for a couple million years, then I came back to normal and went to the bathroom, puked then took a shower.

What impressed me was how pure and monolithic it was.  It stood unwavering, unblemished, a singular state of great power.  Close to the very base of consciousness.

Mushrooms showed me that death is not something to fear, but something to look forward to when it finally happens for real. I love the ego death/NDE on mushrooms, even though it can be pretty terrifying if you've never experienced it before
