Yeah if you can fit some kind of standoff then definitely use it, but you gotta work with what you got and it works okay without.

not sure I understand 100% but if you set your glass jars on the bottom of the PC they will crack. not all at once necessarily but you'll get them.

Ok so i have a question that might make some of you go but i dont know how a pc actually works lol.
I plan to sterilise some q tips individually wrapped in foil and placed in a jar, and then also agar in a bottle before i pour, so my question, when i pc these two do i need a hole in the jar or bottle, or seal them? Will they explode with no hole lol or implode?

yes you must have GE for pCing or they will break. You should make a 1/4" hole in the lid and cover with appropriate filter.
I think if you are using the two peice metal lids you can flip the lid over so the metal side is down and just not screw the band all the way down untill you open the pc after sterilizing.
