Sure I guess so with reverse tolerance would work with you after awhile, I mean I got a little trippy but it wasn't really anything to write home about. I suppose after awhile it could get stronger for sure.

That sounds kinda nice compared to my experience. only smoked salvia once, i think it was 15x but that shit knocked my dick off.
Ripped the bong, held it, felt a like rocket like g force and then was snapped out of reality. Couldn't really comprehend shit, everything sounded TERRIBLE (kinda like when Frodo puts on the ring), i though i was getting rooted into by a shadowy tree....was way fucked.
At the end of it i felt "violated", uncomfortable and had a headache for a few hours haha. That was 3ish years ago and i wonder if it'd be a nicer experience starting with smoking just the leaves and working up with the reverse tolerance? How hard is salvia to grow compared to peppers or tomatoes if even comparable? Thanks all

I think this Salvia is easier to damage than peppers or tomatoes, in my harsh, desert climate, so would put it in partial shade, perhaps behind the walls of a tallish planter, and never let the soil get 100% dry.

My Salvia leaves got 1ft long, under the branch of a peach tree. Fruit has started weigh-down my natural sun barrier, allowing more light. When Salvia started getting about 75% light, the biggest leaves started drying around the edges.

The rules may be different for you, if you have naturally-high humidity, or less sun.

Ime (very little experience) she's not hard to grow.

As far as the experience did you know what you where getting into?
I've done mushrooms and LSD both handfuls of times before I tried salvia my first time a d knew well what was going to happen. Most people get she'll shocked and caught by surprise.

I had some auditory hallucinations as well but almost every time I do salvia I have head phones on listening to calm music with eyes closed and otherwise in distracted.

Even with all that I don't really jump at smoking salvia very often, not really a drug to do for the sake of it.

I can hit ego death on plain leaf. I use a bubbler and bic lighter. For a light to moderately high dose I pack the bowl accordingly. For full blown OBE I will try and rip two bowls back to back. Usually I only make it halfway through the second bowl before I am no longer physically able to take another hit.I rarely ever want to take it that far though...

Bic lighter, hold the hit 15-20 seconds. Hold it less and it wont do anything.

I have no reason to smoke anything other than "1x"

My buddy and his brother are the same. It took me a while to get them to smoke it properly. Its not like weed and the goal is to take as big of a hit as you can without coughing. Holding the hit for less than 15 seconds is futile.

Only quidded light doses a few times. I plan to experiment with that more fully real soon here and with heftier doses.

edit: also reverse tolerance is definitely a thing. Maybe hit sub breakthrough (just giggles and weird pulling earlier that night or the day before) if it isn't doing what you hoped. Although with proper technique I'd be surprised if you aren't blown away. And even if you aren't, no big deal, just make some extract with acetone.

Thank you Durian, i'll do a bit more reading and then i'm gonna give it a go

And yeah Impaired haha, i think i was just overwhelmed by the concentrate. i love my mushrooms, but salvia was just so weird and unorganized. The trip was nonsensical, just chaotic. haha it was hard to get anything from it, aside from fear during it and confusion after haha. I think smoking the leaf, and working up to a point where the salvia trip is still heavy, but still somewhat understandable, would be a much nicer experience

We'll from my understanding the trip from smoked salvia will usually always be fast paced chaotic and hard to grasp.

The natives of Oaxaca Mexico used to quid or make a tea with the plant, and they say smoking the plant is disrespectful to the plant spirits. it makes the experience slower more prolonged and easier to work with. At least this is from what I've read I have yet to try buccal salvia, but I am very intrigued.

If smoking salvia isn't doing what you hoped try a buccal administrayion

Smoked Salvia is also structurally eyeballed and consequently overdosed. Even with proper measurement, especially of extracts (I personally couldn't get plain leaf to work, but I also find it hard to smoke a shitload of leaves), you can easily be one intensity level off, but with eyeballing you can overshoot your goal by multiple levels which can easily be overwhelming. You have to learn your proper dosage by trial and error which is part of the problem..

I habitually weigh all my drugs (the ones that need weighing of course, but I am more used to potent powders like many synthetic psychedelics), so I also weighed my Salvia extract carefully and never overdid it... but from the reports and the description of how the salvia is handled and eyeballed you can obviously see that people have some logical fallacy..

Probably because it is a herb it is assumed that you can get away with it
, with cannabis you eyeball unless inexperienced and very potent cannabis product... damiana etc all that stuff you can basically titrate by eyeballing.

Personally I got a few experiences with manageable psychedelic-dissociating effects like feeling that the world becomes flattened and I get 'stuck' in the painting... the gravity suddenly becoming not straight down but spiralling towards a ceiling corner... but also plain meditative trips with a little less than that. Excellent for that purpose.

Nevertheless, while I am growing plenty of salvia and saving it up, I never want to smoke it anymore despite never having experienced super extreme things. Just not interested in that kind of thing anymore so I would consider using quid at some point for an interesting meditative and manageable visionary experience.

Also I am saving up until I have enough to do an acetone-based extraction and work-up of the salvinorin and hopefully lay that on blotter. But only as a curiosity.

Just came back from holiday and found my Salvia had grown so much I had to make lots of cuttings and harvest some leaves. So here is a picture of my Salvia plant right now :

I hope some cuttings make roots, but if they just rot it's not a big deal cause I also have a Salvia indoors from which i can still take about 3 cuttings and cuttings from my indoor Salvia almost always root. Probs cause it's a cleaner environment (and I'm taking a cutting from my indoor Salvia right now with rooting hormones to see if it's worth it or not.)

Thanks to you all for the support hahaha, yeah I'm really satisfied with my plant, I like to see her that healthy, actually i'm surprised it grows so well...

In case anybody wonders, it grows in a greenhouse with a shade cloth above it ( nothing too professionnal, just some white cloth actually... ) and I have planted it in ground, but with agrums soil ( meditarrean ), vermiculite, and some low pH soil of which i dont know the name in English... I found out this is some really good mix for the Salvia and people from a French ethnobotanical forum advised me to do so...

I hope it keeps on growing until about october (I'll probably take the shade cloth off at some point) but I'm worried about the Winter :/ could someone more experienced with making Salvia survive over Winter give me some advices ?

Salvia divinorum is oftentimes compared with Coleus, in it's appearances and tolerances.

Also, some shamanic types believe that both plants are associated with eachother.

Little update.
Took two more clones and planted the last one in the cloner.

Side note
I dropped 125ug 1p-lsd and after about 5 hours it got kinda dull like lsd tends to do so I broke out some 10x salvia extract and smoked three bowls over the course of an hour and all I can say is WOW.

LSD was a shell and salvia filled in the shell with a whole new vibe of life and energy and positivity and the visuals seemed to mesh with each other very symbiosis like.

Verrry nice experience I suggest you guys try it ever have the chance! It was amazing.

Also, what do you do to dry your leaves? They're still flat and in tacked.

Mine usually shrivel all up once dried

we're looking at tiny bottles of glenlivet 50 ml. Inside is my homemade tincture and that is what I do with my leaves. These leave were left over from the last batch i don;t usually keep them like this intact i usually keep them in a jar or something. I usually use about 10-15 grams to end up with 100-150 ml of tincture. It comes out strong enough that for me 20 ml dose can get pretty intense. I am sure the reverse tolerance is a factor too but yeah it comes out pretty good. I like smoking it but the tincture is just wonderful.

PS. oh to end up with the leaves dried and intact , in other words if you want them to retain their shape you can place them inside a book between paper towels for a few days .
