Some Sort of Conocybe
    #23481363 - 07/27/16 06:21 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

I believe this to be a Conocybe, I'm just unsure of which one. I'm pretty sure it's not C.Albipes as the cap isn't wrinkled at all. I highly doubt it is a C.Smithii but it does very much resemble a C. Tenera as well in many ways and that is what I think it is.

Habitat: Found in my Michigan backyard on the lawn. A bunch of these popped up and they seem to come out more when the lawn gets damp from dew.

Gills: The gills are a light brown color and look to be detached but ARE attached if examined closely at the very very top.

Stem: A thin, creamy colored stem about 6 or 7 cm tall.

Cap: Small cap about 1 cm. variants of light tan all the way to a very light brown.

Bruising: Dark brown.

The colours, plus the cap margin tending to curve in as well as out, suggest C. apala (C. albipes).

Alright, so they normally grow quickly? These seem to just pop up overnight.

Oh how I wish I, or anyone, could! I see a lot of newer people posting only photos and I don't understand how they expect any kind of answer from just a few photos, especially with no close up ones!
