So these cakes were birthed 3 weeks ago and have stopped growing entirely. There are no signs of contamination. Been running at 70-80 degrees and 90%+ humidity. They have not consumed a speck of the verm. What is going on? Halp please. Thank you.

Yep. Just keep waiting man. Sucks I know but like dude said unless they smell bad and are soggy/mushy, they're doing their thing, you just can't see it yet.

So it's normal that they haven't started eating their food 3 weeks in? I was beginning to consider dunking them again.

The first time I did cakes I didn't see pins for over a week, just keep waiting! As long as theyre getting good FAE you'll be alright

Verm has no nutritional value to mycellium... It doesn't eat it... The Verm is acting as a casing layer providing a microclimate on the surface of the cake... Usually when the myc grows over the Verm it is because the cakes didn't consolidate long enough... Just hurry up and wait man...

Thanks for the information man. Thought verm was food.... Isn't 3 weeks way too long to start seeing pins? My cakes aren't dry and they aren't mushy. I just don't understand. They're burmese if that helps anything. I'll keep updates posted for you guys.

Not if they didn't consolidate. Just make sure fae is good and fan and mist so the outside is glistening. They should start knotting and pinning once the Myc consolidates the center of the cakes and begins digesting the nutes

you birthed early. That's why your cakes are taking so long. Hurry up and wait was great advice. Keep 'em glistening and you should be fine.
