I need advice.

I didnt know who else in the world to go to for advice besides the shroomery. So here is what happened.
Long time family friend which we have always considered my sister. She came on my mothers property while i was visiting my grandpa and came up to me and shoved me back. She started yelling about how it was my fault my mom was in the hospital. Some words exchanged and she shoved me again. When she shoved me again i held her hands back and pushed her off of me. As soon as i did that she said im calling the cops because you pushed me.
I didnt even think she was serious. I just left to get out of my moms and away from her to go back to my house. When i got back home i called my mom....she said the cops had a warrant for me. I went the next day and turned myself in. Cop was very nice. Took me down to magistrate court.
The lady there said it was a weird case because she told the police she is my sister and shes not really. She let me go with no fines or fees or anything. Just a court date. That court date is tomorrow.
My sister said she is not even going to show up. I just have some questions. Am i aloud to go to court tomorrow and plead the fifth to everything?
The way i see it...they have no case against me. They had no witness besides her when they showed up. I have not admitted to anything. She is not showing up to court tomorrow.
Does that mean its my word against everything because shes not showing up?
Very shitty situation for me. She is mostly angry because i am her manager at a job and i get on her for things she thinks she doesnt do. She is diagnosed with mental illness.

Yeah, they'll probably dismiss it if she's a no-show.

I would plead not guilty and tell them exactly what happened.

If she doesn't attend court it will likely be dropped. The court can proceed without her but not likely for this. Not sure how far they'd get without their victim/witness but know it can go forward if the police are particularly interested in charges even if the victim withdrawals the complaint. Definitely don't plead guilty to an assault charge for that, especially with her essentially not following through with the process. Talk to a lawyer tommorow before court, they usually have someone giving brief free legal consulting at the courthouse. Ask for an adjournment and the ability to speak to victim to figure all this out. Then kindly ask her to withdrawal the complaint.

Thanks because to be honest i did not get the lawyer. I had to fill out an income paper. I make 1000 a month from this little pizza place job i have going on. I pay it all on rent and bills. Apparently i make too much...

The day after it happened she called the police and asked them if they can drop it. That is when the sheriff told her they cant just drop it and that it would be best to turn myself in and go talk to the lady from the courthouse. Then i received the court date.

Ya so the police want to pursue charges. They take any domestic/man on woman violence seriously these days. Good luck and hope she doesn't show up!

my roommate is going through something very similar. She picked a fight with him and he held her hands for her to stop and then left the scene. Same thing, he turned himself in and BOTH parties decided to drop the charges against each other. HE was still given a court date. They gave him 6 months of drug/anger classes for being involved in a domestic incident.
Its pretty messed up and in my opinion bullshit. Nothing happened to her for getting the cops involved and no court date for her. She was the antagonist in the situation and gets away with nothing for her to own up to lol
I didnt read your last post but It sounds like this is gonna end up exactly the same for you as did my roommate.
