Dmt extraction;first attempt 1

Well guys, I'm attempting my very first DMT extraction! I'm using ACRB with an A/B tek. I've already started the process and am now on my fourth acid boil. I'm nervous, but excited as well. I've been considering trying this extraction for a few years. I finally got around to purchasing all the materials about 7 months ago, and finally, after a long wait for no real reason, I'm giving it a shot. I'm using 1kg of ACRB, and I'm hoping to yield about 20g of crystals. We shall see! Wish me luck! Being that I'm new to this type of extraction, or any type of DMT extraction for that matter, any advice from the experienced would definitely be greatly appreciated! I will post the finished results once it's completed!

The final acid boil is completed, the liquid is condensed to the right amount and I am waiting for it to cool to basify. I'm glad to be done with smelling vinegar in my house all day lol

Just curious, how much did you spend for all the supplies?

Defatting is quite necessary or a 2nd A/B to trap all that crap into the naphtha.
Did the max ion tek on 100g Friday. It's crazy how instantaneously the layers separate
Good luck!

Well I bought 1 kilo of root bark so that combined with a few kitchen items I didn't have, plus extra chemicals needed, it cost me roughly $150. It was a bit pricey, but it's to yield a lifetime supply of crystals, plus there was a few kitchen items needed that are ordinarily owned that I didn't have thanks to having friends with sticky fingers lol
And thanks for the good luck wishes!

Ok I have the first pull in a jar, but I do have an issue and I'm hoping somebody is familiar with this. The naphtha is cloudy, which I kind of expected, but it's also tinted a reddish brown color. I saw a definite separated layer between the reddish cloudy naphtha and the blackish water solution, but I'm worried that it might be red and cloudy due to having some NAOH in it. Has anyone encountered something like this before? Please help!
Also I stirred the gallon jar rather than shaking because when I tried to shake it would leak somehow. Idk if that makes a difference or not. I couldn't find anything saying not to. Please help me!

Also, I forgot to add that the ACRB was very well powdered, I'm wondering if it is some of the finer granular plant matter that managed to float up with the naphtha to tint it that color possibly?

I spent a few hours filtering prior to salting, defatting and basifying.
In dire need of a vac filtration setup lol
Not sure if anyone else does that and just presumes the sediment will be tossed with the black base solution.
Do a B/A to low pH water, discard naphtha, basify, then pull with warm naphtha again.

Are you checking pH levels? Should be around 3.0 for acid phase 12+ for base phase

Yes I've been checking them, it was a 4 for the a it phase and 13 for the base phase. But I think you were right before mentioning the Ph levels. I should have filtered out the soup before going to base rather than just simply straining. I used a screen-style strainer plus cheesecloth to strain it, but the rb was so finely ground that a good bit of the more finely ground pieces got through. I'm guessing it's too late to filter it now after basifying, right?

I would complete one round the way that it is.
You can use a screen coffee filter for the larger particles, then a couple passes with a paper filter. Letting it settle in between and decanting can help separate the sludge.
I would just add back your red naptha to ph 3 water, mix, layer, discard naphtha then filter during this step.
D will be in the water, and you will have removed a ton of impurities. Then go back to the 'post boil' step in your Tek

You should post a pic of your room temp crystalizing jar and the naphtha in it.

Ok, these are the crystallization jars. I have 2 separate jars from the first pull for a reason. The tek I used said to let the solvent separate from the soup for 10-15 minutes before pulling. That was a mistake. The darker jar is from pulling after 15 minutes, but I didn't pull all of it. After a couple of hours I noticed the naphtha looked a bit cleaner and better separated so I pulled that. So the lighter brown jar is the solvent pulled after a few hours

And after pouring through filters I ended up with sticky brown goo....

ACRB has a high fat content compared to Mimosa. I got white crystals from the Tek I posted above, with a slight bit of glycerin-like residue.
The v/v extraction is almost instantaneous when salted. If you defat first then you won't get an emulsion layer either.

Also I went ahead and started the freeze precipitation process with this pull just out of curiosity to see what comes out of it. But I also plan on using fresh naphtha for the second pull rather than the used naphtha, and let it sit for longer, plus pull more carefully using a separators funnel. Any thoughts or advice on this?

The pulls rely on the two liquids to exchange the spice. This means getting contact, so sitting separated doesn't help unless it's not separating
4 cycles per pull. Sep funnel is very handy. If it doesn't precipitate, you may have to reduce the naphtha volume by one half after pulling
