Has she tried speech therapy, or any other behavioral mod techniques to try and work through it? I am no expert on stuttering, but have heard it is a tic, and somewhat related to OCD, which I overcame after many years or work. If I did stutter, I would do everything I could to try and eliminate it - not so much for others but because I like to be in as much control of my brain and behaviors as possible.

I always thought most people kind of force that shit. The Boston accent anyways. I'm from Boston and I have a tendency to pronounce words proper Some people tho, I'm like wtf are you doing. People from Maine sound silly sometimes, kind of like kids almost

Shes been in speech therapy since she was a child. Shes tried everything in the book. Nothings ever really helped her. I havent really looked into it, but the way she describes it is its some kind of feed back error in the speech part of the brain. Its also specific sounds that initiate the stutter, like words that start with an h or an r. She'll go completely out of her way to avoid certain words.
The only time she doesnt really stutter is when shes singing or when shes drunk

It's a neurological tremor thing. Like tremors in your hand or wrist but instead, in your speaking muscles.
Alchohol temporarily cures it cause it blocks some signals in the brain that contribute to the tremmor, something like that.

If I had to pick a very favorite subject it would probably be neurology, shit like this is fascinating to me. What is it about the way music is processed that its able to pass through her disorder? Similarly with booze, what is alcohol shutting down that helps her? ... Really interesting to me
