i am looking to go on a vacation out west somewhere for a week.
i have been to Oregon but am looking for somewhere else to visit.
does anyone know of any places that are all inclusive to spend some time at which possibly have something to do locally?
edit : Colorado is west of me as i am east of the Mississippi.

If you have a passport, I highly suggest BC.
The forests and islands there are like nothing else i've seen anywhere else.

Check out Orcas Island, it's in northern Washington and is basically a big beautiful island that feels like a combo of OR WA and CA. There is not a ton to do besides explore nature so if your not into that you may not dig it.
There are a lot if beautiful state/ national parks and great camping though.

yeah. BC sounds nice. i do not feel like camping but am more interested in a cabin or resort if that is what they are referred to there. of course i would have to get a passport which would not be much of an issue. the last time i went to Canada i did not need a passport and i happened to sleep in a tent

the nice thing about resorts south of Florida are their all you can eat and drink policy's but i guess that would not be considered "out west" like i was thinking.
the wilderness is nice though...very nice.

that looks like a great place to visit but the only problem i see with it is that there are no dispensaries which are close. next time i go to OR i might try to stay there for a little while
thank you for your input! that place looks awesome

you are correct. i am daringly innovative, sometimes...
from what i am aware it has to be a certain time of year to see. whenever it is that the sun is in the right position.

Pretty sure there is at least 1 dispensary on the island, last time I went some friends of family who live in Washington came and I believe they went to the dispensary at one point. It may have been a medical only one though, even if that is the case if you ever roadtrip there I am sure you could find some rec dispensaries on the way to the ferry. Possibly not very out of the way.

Tofino or Sooke BC. look em up... Tons of pristine lakes, salmon, whales, bears, surf, islands, beaches, shroom picking and places to chill/eat. Definitely lots of cabins to rent and some bush hike ones too. The drive through the mountains to the coast at Tofino is unreal. Northern lights are occasional and faint on Vancouver island, they seem to have bursts every year without warning for a few days in summer/fall where they are visible. Have seen them in the queen Charlotte islands proper though. Amazing place up there too!

Drive around Lake Tahoe for a couple days, check out Emerald Bay and the waterfalls there, rent a jet-ski for an hour, and be sure to hit up the restaurant at Camp Richardson on South Shore on the weekend for live music and grub on their lakeside deck while people chill on the "beach" right there. It's a party there every weekend all summer... Then drive down to Yosemite valley and check out Half Dome, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls and all that awesomeness. Then cruise over to the Bay Area and check out Tiburon and Sausalito, then cross the Golden Gate bridge north to south, then continue on the Pacific Coast Highway down the beach for a couple hours past Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and keep going down to Carmel beach, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. I grew up doing this....trust me.
Your life wont be the same again.

...and don't go looking up a bunch of pictures of Lake Tahoe and Yosemite and those beaches I mentioned. Don't spoil the excitement before you get there. You don't wanna open your presents early, do you? Let it be a surprise and just go. Just check the weather and make sure it's a sunny week!!!
