Growing P. Subaeruginosa with no prior experience

After my mushroom hunting trip to SW Australia, I wanted to try cultivation. I didn't want to put massive efforts into growing, so i did some quick scanning across the web on how to care for wood loving species, and set a growing box up. No sterilisation was used on any of my materials.
I used soaked cardboard, soaked bark and sticks from native plants, rotting leaves, and a small amount of vermiculite.
The box is layered as follows: wet cardboard/vermiculite/wood debris/vermiculite repeated 3 time.
i chopped up pieces of wet mushroom caps and placed them inside the cardboard, stuck a thermometer into the mix then covered the box with a clear lid. The box then sat outside in indirect sunlight for 7 days.
I lifted up the cardboard, and this is what I saw:

The temperature of the box has been anywhere between 0 and 15 degrees celsius, and I will be controlling the temperature and water using ice blocks. I'm eager to see if this works, and I will be glad to share my progress

what exactly do you want to achieve by using ice blocks? Is that an attempt to grow indoors? you have to set up your substrate, introduce a decent amount of mycellium and except from watering over summer leave it to mother nature to take its course. It will take at least a year to produce some fruits.
a pic of the box / setup?

The ice blocks cool the substrate (I presume) and provide water. I have other methods of temp control, it's just the first thing that came to mind, and if I need to move it inside so be it. Here's the setup:

This is the first time I have ever attempted something like this, so I don't really know much. Any help is appreciated.

@FractaliopsybeS
that looks very cool man, and I get the idea of using gel-packs to control temp.
hey what kind of wood chips are you using?
@SpaceyC wasn't sure what you were saying with using ice blocks to control temp and humidity....letting them melt inside the box?
Hope you guys find a good tek to flush them buggers indoors. Will start an outdoor patch this spring.

@circles Yes, just placing them on the substrate. I'll admit it isn't the best of methods, but it'll do for now :P
@fractaliopsybe Looking good! Best of luck in your endeavours

Cheers mate!
Not sure of the blend of woods that get chipped, pretty sure they'd be gum trees and pines of sorts.

Since 17 days ago, he's been way more invested in this thread than OP. But I can't tell if anything posted actually makes sense.
