DAY 06 :
I misted more early in the morning, enough to get a shiny surface. I didn't really get any beads so maybe I pussy footed that shit. Either way I tried to keep it wet enough to glimmer all day. I had to mist it again at PM check because it lost that wet look.

As long as you have good air ventilation in the room and can adjust your polyfill according to surface conditions, don't be afraid to mist it good!

DAY 07 :
This morning my tub was dry so I had to give it a good mist again, and then another in the evening. I picked off the mushrooms that were fucked up from the dry spell. I ordered a new temp/rh meter and it will be here in a couple days. Is it normal to have to mist a mono twice a day? I didn't have to do that with the half a dozen or so B+ tubs that were successful but I kept those in an old basement with high humidity. So does that mean that my room is probably just really dry? I'll find out for sure when the meter gets here what the measurements are. If I wanted to keep the moisture better in the tub then what would be the best way to go about that? I'm guessing running a humidifier in the room would help but maybe there is a better way to go about it? Maybe I don't even need it? I picked off the mushrooms that got dry. Did I over mist in the PM? The tub dried up a lot last night.

Yeah you overdid it on the PM. The amount you will need to mist is going to be dependent on a lot of factors. Field capacity, the specific themogenesis of the culture, ambiant room temp, room currents and how tight or loose you stuff your holes are all going to play a role.
I find that once it gets too dry it can be hard to bounce back, they mycelium gets matted the way yours did. You want the little hairs to just be coated in tiny droplets. If they evap too fast then tighten the poly up.
Casing really helps keep the surface conditions ideal. I have no idea why so many people dislike it when it can make a world of difference with pinset. Something you should consider.

Good to know. I am officially on the good casing ban wagon because that was done on all my other grows as well. I forgot the retard logic behind that decision on this run, but I think it had something to do with not having enough coir mixed up to get the sub depth I wanted. New tub, new room. Thanks for all the info. I feel like I should put more poly in my top holes? I hope I get some decent fruits. did it matte up too much already to be that good of a haul?

Well it's not gonna put out a canopy. If you get conditions dialed in better and keep em good you might see something for the efforts. But impossible to say how much.

DAY 08 :
I tightened up the top holes in the morning and it helped keep the substrate wet. It still dried out a bit over night. Some of the places that are drying out faster are starting to look unhealthy. The second picture in particular, the one of the corner. Is that the matting that was mentioned?

Yeah that yellowish spot is the mycelium dying. I don't think you are going to be able to save that surface, the mycelium is dead and not able to produce enough heat to keep the dew point up which is partially why it's drying out so fast. The repeated misting is saturating the existing fruits and they are going to abort if it continues or fall to bacteria.
At this point your best bet is to just leave it and get what fruit you can. Then flip it for the second flush. The bottom should be in better shape and might do better.

DAY 10 :
Tightening up the top polyfil yesterday seemed to help things out, even though the mycellium is strained and dying in some places do to the early drying out. Even the rings around the holes are better/ more dialed in/ more like other tubs I have seen. I harvested the one mushroom that has the veil breaking. I still did a light mist in the morning, mostly out of compulsion.
AM

DAY 11 :
The mushrooms exploded in growth over night. I read that Ecuador stains mature at a fast rate compared to other strains so I don't know how much of it has to do with that, or if it has to do with dialing in my tub. I know side pinning is usually not wanted but in my case where I fucked up the sub early on, the side pins have been my best fruits. Did I get so many because I taped the liner to the sides of the mono? I did it initially because it seemed to be cleaner or something to me? IDK, n00b logic or something. But I read somewhere that what prevents the side pinning is the liner shrinking with the substrate. I can't remember what thread that was. I plan on printing a couple of the caps that are opening up and harvesting the other maturing fruits tonight.

DAY 12 :
AM
The other fruits started maturing over night so I harvested them this morning. She has been putting out more than what I expected after the rough beginnings. The tub looked walls looked too saturated this morning. I suspect that I over did it and packed those top holes too tight now, restricting good FAE. I think that's confirmed by the fuzzy feet in the new fruits right? I believe my best options for adjustment is either turning the fan back on, or taking enough polyfil out of the holes up top to try and find the right pack for my environment. Something in between where I was and where it is now. I chose to run the fan on low again just because that was my first instinct, but I'm not sure that is the best thing to do. Pasty said fans can be real bad for some so maybe I'm heading the wrong direction? IDK

DAY 13 :
AM
I feel like the fan helped out but I am going to keep a close eye on it today to see if it starts to dry it out again. The temp/rh meter says that my rooms rh is 65% and stays between 74-77 degrees.

looks really dry already!
and your liner sticks to your tub, not your sub. did you tape it or something?

Yes the liner is taped. I mentioned that earlier, and I thought the liner was more for cleaning LOL I ran across a thread that said it was to prevent side pinning so that's one lesson from the grow. I'm kind of happy I did it though because side pins happen to be the most fruits that I am getting. I will turn the fan off and loosen the polyfil to find an in between. hopefully the flip side isn't too dried up. Pasty suggested flipping it for the second flush, do you have any suggestions? the search bar is turning up little for me.

my advice is follow pastys advice
and mist it now, looks like it may have turned around and still be able to pin off that surface to me, but it wont happen until you get some moisture on there.
