The waiting game...

So recently I saw some rustling in the bushes and upon further investigation, it was a huge rat! This beast is chasing the anoles on the fence like a staight predator. I now know it is around when all the lizards run in a certain direction, It's very entertaining. I just got back from Home Depot with a trap and my impatience is killing me!!! Rats are primarily nocturnal so hopefully tonight it makes its last mistake... I used peanut butter but does anyone suggest an alternative?

Upon further reflection, it may damn well be a pikachu. Unfortunately for him, it ain't peanut butter in a poke ball that's for sure.

Based on his predisposition towards predation I'd say meat would be a good bait. Chicken probably would work best, being white meat like reptiles.
Spellcheck is telling me predation is spelled wrong. WTF mate?

Chuck a pokeball at it. Might need to use a master ball if it remains elusive

Well, it is incorrect and you are correct. If I don't get this nuisance in the next couple of days I may have to sacrifice a lizard or try some chicken. I like the chicken idea.

Peanut butter works the best

What's the end goal in killing it here? You're using a trap, so it's not for sport. I don't think you're eating it (are you? ). Is it because he's munching on lizards?
Just trap it and give it to a cat or something.

I've eaten a lot of different animals but rat ain't one of them. I'm not fond of the rodent because I have a dog in the backyard that can get sick from feces or attacked if she catches it. She is a very enthusiastic husky mix who already brings me dead birds. She's so nice haha.

My dog and cats like to leave dead birds under my porch where I can't get them without taking apart the deck. It's real nice when the back door is open and we get a little breeze.

I think it's time to just burn the house down and start again.

If only ot were that simple... I'm going to get this rat even if I have to camp out on the roof with a pellet gun.

if fruit flies were your problem I'd have the perfect solution! - Apple Cider Vinegar
You put some in a glass, and then put saran wrap around it and poke holes in it

I think I'm going to buy a cat bowl and put some cat food in it in my neighbors backyard if I get desperate.
