Something slightly different.

After getting a good handle on growing, I decided to experiment with different types of containers for the cakes. I chose some Baking Trays made from pressed Aluminium, and can be found at most stores with Baking items. My reasoning is that I wanted something larger than a Jar, and also I wanted something completely disposable.
The results are very good so far. As you can see in the photos, I cover them with foil, but its not just one layer. The first is cut to only extend an inch past the edges, and its firmly pressed into place. The second extends two inches, and is only loosely applied, to act as a dust cover after inoculation. Inoculation leaves only a hole as big as the needle, but that’s splitting hairs. Another plus is complete darkness in the Trays.
Next I'm going to add a thin layer of Vermiculite to the bottom of the Tray when adding Substrate. Then I'll have a Casing top and bottom.

That's super cool. Did you boil or pc or oven the cakes? How long did it take to. Grow start to finish? How could you tell they are done?

They look good but complete darkness isn't a plus, also makes it difficult to check progress and to look for contams and at that size you risked stalling. You could have used similar pp5 tubs that are PCable and allows light and vision for progress and contams and generally have a lid but still risk stalling Nether the less well done nice looking shrooms and cakes there
