Blame Wahhabism. Not all muslims are radicals, but Islam as a whole is a pretty oppressive religion regardless.

Islam is extremely repressive. I just don't think very many American Muslims are that interested in being fundamentalists.

Exactly. The only good Muslims are the ones who aren't actually "good" Muslims as per their religion.

I wouldn't go that far, some just don't subscribe to Wahhabism, and believe of jihad of the "pen" rather than the "sword"

That statement applies to most religions.

You have to remember that Jesus brought forgiveness with the New Testament and alot of the cruel punishments of the Old Testament were absolved.

You have to remember that the Pope went to AIDS riddled Africa and told Catholics that using condoms was a sin. I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of people are sick and dying because of this one statement.

The pope is irrelevant to the teachings of Jesus tbh.

Also there are mothers in africa RIGHT NOW who are paying a man with aids to sleep with their daughters.

Don't act like they were using condoms before he showed up.

That's a convenient thing to say. Devout Catholics would think differently.

Convenient. Going by what the Bible dictates. I don't mind how you label it, my sentiment remains.

Until the Christian bible doesn't include the Old Testament, this statement is irrelevant. Christians use the Old Testament all the time when it's convenient.

It's irrelevant to those who don't practice Christianity, true.

Apparently not. A true Catholic understands that the pope is Jesus' representative on earth.

I was raised Roman Catholic but i don't acknowledge the pope and i'm loyal to Jesus and his teaching alone.

I like the idea of praying to Mary and believe it's important to acknowledge the women of the Bible.
I also like the Rosemary and other aspects of Catholicism but may have to switch denominations as i don't believe in the Papacy.

I am a Christian who was raised Roman Catholic(beyond my control).

I have been discussing this with other Catholics and it does seem that entrusting the Pope is a requirement so i have some choices to consider.

I have no doubt about the goodness of Jesus' teachings and pray for his understanding, whatever path i decide to follow.

I got kicked out of CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) when I was a kid because the nuns said I asked too many questions.
