My Mycelium From Spore

So Im super board waiting to update my Log, so I decided to do a post on my Mycelium. About 4/5 months back I was given a very nice culture from a grower with exp.. I was shown the sectors and schooled hard, if you read this thanks guy. Enough of the jabber that moment lead to the last few months of my work and here it is.
I started off with what's said to be Amazon and Pourtas of regions of origin - not from a trusted grower.
After many failed attempts I found out how to get my spore water to take on PDA.

I then took some samples of promising looking areas.

From the samples I chose my starting point for each culture.

In those samples I found the edge of growth I liked. But after getting out that edge I've found each piece has some very distinct growth I like.

My method on the dish is to place what I like in the center, when I see what I want move it to the side. As soon as the piece takes and I see the next edge I like I remove the center and move the new edge to a side only removing the last piece when a new edge has taken.
In the last pics I am on cut 4 since spore, this will carry on until I see very uniform growth all over. Then Ill place the culture to a slant as a save point and keep going, if the culture improves replace it if not go back to the starting culture.
Any how thats how a noob rolls.

while i do like the idea of recycling/saving agar/plates and stuff, you might want to reconsider moving your transfers to a new clean plate, instead of just putting it on the edge of the same plate. i feel like this is an easy way to get unwanted bacteria or other stuff that may be on the plate already, into the clean transfer youre taking.
just a thought.
maybe instead fo using disposable(?) plates, you could use reusable Pasty Plates?
keep it up, though

Well I was lucky to find some UK import and found canning jars with a rubber lip, sealed till tugged. Got my kitchen on and the result is awsome.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
My next isolation plates are ready.
