is this black mold or bruising? (the cuts are from me using a fork to scrape the stroma)

That doesn't look like bruising, but I'd rather a TC chime in on that.  Why are people still scraping subs?

It is actually bruising lol. At least the stuff in focus. Holy shit that poor substrate :frown:. Cubensis never has stroma or overlay... You probably had matting and rubbery bacterial myc due to bad conditions.

Lol Yea I've given up on playing 'guess this contam' on here. Overlay this, trich that..  Tired of pics so I'm sticking to what's actually in front of my own face. Good advice as always MadSeason! Hope your sub recovers potatopopper and good luck with the grow! :stoned:

Haha tbh I've gotten so used to pics that sometimes I take pics of my own shit to view it in zoom to see what I think. So funny. Bruising is something to get used to. Took me a long time to figure out how to tell. Sometimes it can be green and black lol. Just gotta know that almost all molds will be fuzzy/granular/mossy. Not rubbery and smooth like mycelium.

yeah i think i had matting! what should i do keep misting and fanning or chuck it? also when i try to mist it, the water just stays on top of the matted mycelium? also would it be a good idea to put a little bit of isopropyl in my spray to help keep things sanitary?

:whathesaid:

If you are using it to clean tools or whatever adding water to isopropyl alcohol will only dilute it more..which is rather pointless. Don't add it to anything related to misting the FC.
