Identify this growth on fruiting substrate

Hi, so I'm growing psilocybe cubensis for the first time and I've reached the fruitng phase. The conditions aren't ideal as I don't have perlite for humidity so I'm just using drenched toilet paper. However, there is a strange growth on one of the cakes and it inda looks like a mushroom cap but I don't believe that it how it should look like so I'd like some help identify this growth. Thanks in advance.

Your pictures didn't show up brother.
How to post pictures
-------------------- How to get started in bulk: Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs) What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain) Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

OK although I didn't get an answer I removed it this morning. It definitley wasn't a mushroom and it started to get sorta moldy on top so I just chopped it with a sterilised scalpel and now there is some blue bruising around the area. This probs didn't affect the cake negatively as it's growing very good looking pins

um....he didn't bump his thread within 24 hours just because he didn't get an answer? He bumped it because he gave an update on what he had done differently between that post and the last post.

pretty sure that was just a blob. you couldve left it. blobs are still edible and active. some blobs will even go on to form a cap and grow (somewhat) normally. the "mold" on top coulve been just some "fuzzy-feet", which is normal, and could be from lak of FAE.
cant see your FC, so not sure if it's an SGFC or not. that could cause some problems, if it isnt.

i mean i cant say for sure, but i have gotten plenty of blobs on non-PE varieties, on cakes. like my last B+ blobbed up like crazy!
from what i have read, it can happen from overly-nutritious substrate, sometimes. or if you didnt leave enough time for your cake to consolidate after 100% colonization.
but, it does look like a blob, to me. did it feel like mushroom tissue when you took it off, OP? and bruise blue, like a mushroom would?

blobs from a lack of consolidation, harvest with your mature fruits next time, they are normally a first flush issue though

ive noticed that too. My second flush of the B+ that blobbed up really bad had zero blobs.
which makes since. because if they are forming mostly because consolidation wasnt long enough before birthing, then after the first flush, proper consolidation wouldve happened by then.
also, lots of the first flush blobs actually formed caps and grew relatively normal-looking.
