I have recently gotten more and more interested in cacti. Currently I have a little cacti garden going and absolutely love sitting on the porch and admiring my Peruvian Torches and Trichocereus Bridgesiis; I think they are gorgeous plants and are a lot of fun to watch grew. My question is, is there any way to tell which species are which? Peruvian Torches, Trichocereus Bridgesiis and San Pedros look almost identical to me. I've researched this matter quite a bit but haven't found anything very useful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm currently searching a very popular auction site that starts with an E looking for a good specimen cutting to add to my collection and am not sure which one to go with. I've heard that PC cacti are only good for decoration because cloning so often leads to loss of goodies for extraction. Any help or recommends would greatly be appropriated.

This is my current collection. I was told the two larger ones in the back are Trichocereus Peruvianus and the five smaller ones in the front are Trichocereus Bridgesii.

Thank you! Like I said, I'm wanting to buy one or two more cuttings or seedlings to add to my collection; I'm just worried cause I heard PC cacti are only good for decoration and nothing else. I'm really trying to find a potent and good strand of cactus to grew. If anyone has any suggestions or a source please let me know or PM me.

Yep, the big ones look like peruvianus, the smaller ones definitely look bridgesiioid. But it's hard to tell at this young age.
A peruvianus looks pretty much like a pachanoi, except the spines are longer and harder. The column itself may appear thicker with it's deep, fat ribs.
Bridgesii is usually thinner and the spination differs. It looks more chaotic, with three to five very long spines pointing in any possible direction. Bridgesii usually has less ribs than pachanoi or peruvianus. A bridgesii with five ribs is common, whereas a pachanoi or peruvianus almost always have six or more ribs.
Here's a comparison from my collection: bridge, pach, peru.

You're welcome, though that's just my own rule of thumb to differ them.
There are lots of hybrids out there, too, sharing some of the characteristics, making it even harder to recognize.
