so i just harvested for first time and i put all the mushrooms in a food dehydrator. It has no setting option so it automatically stays at 160 degrees faren. Do you think that destroyed the potency? Any answers would help.

That's perfectly fine.

(Grain-to-Grain) Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

You did the right thing, no dehydrator gets hot enough to degrade actives. What does is oxidation using moisture as a catalyst. The quicker they go from fresh to cracker dry the better, store in air tight container immediately after.

It's ok. what is the most important is to remove as much water as quickly as possible. Store them in an air tight jar with a strong desiccant to get the last remaining water out.

No, use the dehydrator to get the last of the water out, and use the desiccant, (or don't), to prevent any more water from absorbing in later. Not necessary in an airtight container though.

Thanks for all the responses. And I'm asking now because after using dehydrator I read a bunch of post where people claimed heat kills potency. I ate a few and they seemed to work for me.

Those are old posts. I believe it takes over at least 300F to degrade actives. Enjoy and keep those babys dry. Once harvested moisture and air are the enemies.
