How Do You Feel About Theresa May Putting The Nuclear Option On The Table?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/theresa-may-trident-debate-nuclear-bomb-yes-live-latest-news-a7143386.html
I think they have their wording a little messed up. In my opinion there is no one innocent there besides the very young children,. It is the citizens country and their responisiblity to put as much effort as possible into cleaning up the mess and placing cultural reform BEFORE isis pushes things way too far like Japan did in the beginning of World War Two, and MAKES Theresa push the Trident Nuclear Button. I think they should show as much patience and resolve as their Nation can possibly stand, and that so far nothing has happened to really push things too far. France seems to be getting close but they are Pussies and seem to not be doing shit. But if something similar to 9/11 happens in UK I would not loose a single night of sleep if I woke up one day to find out the middle east is a barron radioactive wasteland, forcing corporations and governments all over the planet to re-budget and invest in clean energy because the oil is no longer available. Which this is probably one of the biggest things keeping anyone from nuking the place, they still have allot of money to soak up from oil. Could the previous subject be the reason that the UK wanted out of the UN? So that they cannot tell the UK they are NOT dropping nukes? What about the Geneva convention? Would Theresa be put on trial for war crimes or would the world turn their heads and look the other way depending on the severity of the cause?

I understand what you are saying, but I believe Nukes are a very good deterent and have there place in world politics because the crime, death, war, terrorism, territory land battles that would occur without the presence of Nukes would cause much more death and devistation than what we have seen caused by Nukes so far. For example the death and bloodshed on both sides would have been far far greater if it was a conventional ground battle rather than a couple small low yielding low efficiency Nukes in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
The ones in charge of the nukes really need to watch their ass on how many they detonate, where at, and why because slowly over hundreds of years we could loose allot of useful land mass.
They should continue to try and use intelligence gathering, tomahawk and cruise missiles to specifically target terrorist leaders, but if they ever change tactic and go from Guirilla warfare, to making a large land-grabbing establishment and foothold somewhere, just save the drama and nuke that shithole.

you think it is the responsibility of a largely powerless population base to stop a fractured/scattered military organization with no set way of identifying its members?
you think that people who have been living their lives, who were clearly innocent, before the formation of ISIS, are now somehow any less innocent because they don't have the ability or haven't had an opportunity to stop armed, fundamentalist thugs?

I don't see very many people standing up for whats right over there. I understand they are laying low for self preservation and not trying to put their own heads on the chopping block.
What if George Washington would of laid low and tried not to put his head on the chopping block? How were the Jews treated when they did the same?
I would only like to see the none-extremist muslim communities saying more, doing more and working on spreading a new theology to the next generation to try and push back on what Alqueda, Jihad and Isis has done. I understand it is hard to fight a gun and grenade battle with an empty stomach and some sand and rocks.

by continuing on with their way of life, and not immediately giving in/up or joining ISIS, they are standing up for what they see as right.
Quote:

Washington had military experience (knowledge) and wasn't fighting an enemy who had significantly stronger weaponry. The field was much more level in those days. Not to mention they had time to rally citizens, as well as arm them, long before British forces would be upon them. In this age of mobility and communication, the "innocents" aren't afforded that luxury.
While i'm not very familiar with the Holocaust, i can imagine there are a few key differences. One being that the number of prisoners within a confined area was significantly greater, especially compared to the number of oppressors in said area, than that of the people:military forces spread out over a relatively harsh landscape. Another is that their oppressors were always present, therefore could be plotted against more readily. i would imagine it much harder to devote one or more persons as "watch" for when the ISIS troops do make their rounds

Again, weigh the costs of taking a futile stand where one is almost certainly guaranteed death and/or torture, versus the chance that one (or one's children) may eventually be able to return to some form of stability if they remain silent.

They've obviously been on the table the whole time. Else the UK wouldn't have them, or have kept some operational. The only time nuclear powered weapons are not on the table is when they are not on the table.

I fully support Trident. It's a necessary deterrent. Those politicians looking to axe our military defenses, whilst being fully aware that other country's would not follow suit, is fucking ridiculous! I praise May for having the balls to stand up to the plate and defend the UK if necessary.
The media are blowing her words right out of proportion. She was speaking on the assumption that we had been attacked first!

So why are they talking about it at all then? I think this is going to turn into basically desnensitising the UK and everyone else to the fact that they are going to do it. I believe the royal family owns, funds, and pays subsidies to certain oil fields, and they might be creating a false flag operation to nuke the other oil fields and raise the demand and price for their own oil. They are like well hey 9/11 worked out so well for Busch, and Saud-Arabia, we want in on that international terrorism cash cow.

Nah, the media are just blowing this shit out of proportion as usual. A majority of out MP's voted on Monday to renew the UK's nuclear deterrent. An MP in opposition, asked the PM if she would be prepared "hypothetically" to press the button, to which she replied yes'. That's all it is. It's not literally going to happen.
She was simply stating that she would be prepared to defend the UK if it came under attack. A necessary stance for the world to know, should they decide to fuck with the UK.
The MP and leader of the opposition party on the other hand, who asked the question, has stated out right that he would never be prepared to launch a nuclear strike, even if the UK came under attack. He also wants to scrap out nuclear capabilities all together, knowing full well that our enemies would not do the same. The dudes a fucking idiot!

To kill someone nowadays doesn't require you to look someone in the eye. I suggest noone who values their life entertain the idea of killing other people, especially if they just become a number on a report afterwards. If you can look someone in the eye and pull the trigger, you're not really worth to be a part of society to begin with.

Americas busy developing "limited" use nuclear weapons. Small payloads for low level conflicts. Wait until one of the nutcases running for office gets the launchcodes for those. We're absolutely fucked.

Obama got the nobel peace prize for saying it ...... Then went onto to update and expand our nuclear arsenal the most since the cold war ended.

Eh? I disagree entirely. This would apply to many veterans, police officers and people simply defending themselves. Killing isn't out of the natural order by any means, chances are you eat meat in the first place.

I get what you mean. And yes, some situations would require you to end a life to preserve your own. But in what circumstances does the natural order permit killing? Self defence, obtaining food, dominance in some species. Self defence? Sure, if the only way to save your life is to take that of the other person because your survival instinct guides you, that's what you're going to do. Obtaining food? Yeah, well as long as you don't eat your own species. Dominance? This one's all messed up. If you're ready to kill for dominance you don't belong to society, period. Society's about co-existence.
Also this video neatly sums up my point.
And yeah, I eat meat, but I sure as hell couldn't shoot a pig if it was the only way to obtain bacon. And that brings home the point that things dying doesn't feel that bad if we aren't the ones there to witness it.
My views are strongly enforced by what I've experienced during my trips. I don't mean to bash anyone's opinion, rather make a case for what it really means to take a life and to have your own.
Tl;dr: I think having a life is cool and taking one is not. Your opinion may vary.
Peace.

There has never been a human society without some kind of dominant force in various places throughout every niche of operation. It's inherent in primate nature. Sometimes, bad people get dominance through violence, and good people need to use violence to get it back.

Self-defense and obtaining food / resources, are a given. Dominance depending on the situation (rule of law, revolution, extended self-defense). Revenge.
All that being said, I'm not by any means a violent person, have not been in a fight or struck anyone outside of sparring in the last decade. Just not a pacifist either, its better to avoid conflict but at this moment I have little philosophical issue with it.

I don't make a distinction between vicarious violence and direct
Not sure how many people Stalin killed himself, but he was responsible for the deaths of many. Eating meat is paying for animals to die... this is an iffy subject for me though, as I view plants as living and conscious.

Any detonation of nuclear weapons in the context of war on earth should be completely rejected.
There is no excuse for polluting the earth for thousands of years over a conflict. Many people all over the world are still getting cancer because of the nuclear weapons testing of the mid-1900s.
Its inexcusable. An atomic bomb isnt a really big explosive, its something that sets fire to an entire region and contaminates it with poison for thousands of years. Nuclear weapons are completely inhumane.
May that day never come again
