Second Flush - Black rot
    #23459132 - 07/20/16 10:23 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

The tip of every mushroom on my 2nd flush of my recent rye flour cake has decided to rot away. Sup with that? Bacteria?

I would toss that shit and at least look into increasing fae in that chamber.

I've widened the holes like three times now, and I fan after a misting out of habit. Though these is some water that gets trapped on the bottom layer of perlite. Could that do it? I try to mist 2-3 times a day only.

Acceptable methods of increasing fae is cracking the window in the room, leaving the door open, elevating the sgfc more, aerating the perlite by hand raking it, and poking out the bottom holes.

I'd look into doing all of those things.

Alright then, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the input. I've read that once dry, vert infested mushrooms are still edible? They smell quite foul as of this morning. I decided to bleach down the perlite/SGFC to see if I can't make the environment a bit cleaner for the mycelium. Removed all aborts and actively growing mushrooms, gave it a misting and a fanning. Hopefully a successful flush three isn't out of the question.

I personally wouldn't even eat those lol. And I'd toss it before it spread to any nearby mushrooms, assuming you got some.

Well fuck. The whole cake is a loss then? Got a reference link to vert and it's reproductive cycle? Am curious. You said it produces spores right? :facepalm3:
My whole grow area is compromised then.

Kinda.. but increasing fae will keep it away. The more the better. It thrives in low fae. I don't have links. I kinda had to research hard, Google a lot, and stick to the contam/cult forum a lot before understanding vert and pseudomonas. Both are bitches and spread like wildfire. Best to get them out of chambers asap.

Moved the HEPA into the grow area, going to clean that whole fucking thing before the next ones finish colonizing. :super:
