DMT extraction

Generally speaking, can stainless steel containers be used (for mixing, etc) in place of glass containers?
What are the pros/cons?
More specifically, if you feel like a short read, could stainless steel containers be used in place of glass mason jars in this tek:
https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/DMT_extraction_using_sodium_hydroxide_and_naphtha
Thank you!

I definitely wouldn't....Why would you even want a stainless steel container?
How are you planning on viewing your naptha to make sure it's separated completely and know that you're not siphoning the base solution?
Talk about a heat conductor.
Just go get a whiskey bottle or something.

I've read a tek that used a large stainless steel mixing bowl. You'd be able to see into that, I think.
I'm asking because I want to avoid cracking/breaking the glass when I add/mix the lye. I've never done this before...trying to understand this stuff.
I guess I dont know how likely busting the glass is in reality, but the warnings make it sound like it happens every other time.
The stainless would get really hot, youre saying?

Yes, the stainless would definitely get very hot...you're more than likely keeping it in a heat bath during your pulls, no? and adding the lye will heat up whatever container it's in.
But no....add lye to water NOT water to lye, otherwise it will cause a violent reaction. If you add your lye to COLD water, stirring it with a metal utensil as you slowly pour your lye into the water, and then add your water/lye mixture to your extraction bottle, you'll be perfectly fine.
I've done over 10 extractions and only one time did my bottle break and that was simply because I let the heat bath it was sitting in get way too hot. It had nothing to do with the lye.
Also make sure to open the cap of the bottle occasionally to let out any built up pressure.
If I were you though, I'd do "Cyb's Salt Tek" which uses those same ingredients but doesn't have any nasty vinegar boils and seems to be a bit simpler than the tek you posted. That's just me though.

Its nonsense to believe you're some how more at risk by communicating through a PM than openly in a thread.
And openly insulting/accusing people on a site like this of being snitches could potentially reduce their chances of obtaining quality info in the future.
Take care, man.
I wasn't paraonid, nor did I think I was at risk. I had no interest in private messaging you and having a 1-on-1 conversation with someone who has several ratings claiming they're a snitch. Why would I associate with that? I'll give you your help and leave it at that.
Giving someone else advice to snitch on someone else will reduce your chances of obtaining quality info in the future.
Get over it.
