That cake in the middle is already way beyond saving, try to post a picture of your fruiting chamber. You really shouldnt have to fan or mist 6 times a day with any FC

Someone told you assbackwards. If you built a proper SGFC you really don't need to fan and misting is very important, but mist as needed not on a schedule to cover them in very fine beads of moisture.

I find that there is no such thing as too much fanning as long as the RH stays up/ there is enough water. Shrooms are 90% water, they love the stuff, the more available water they have, the bigger they will grow, (obviously genetics play a roll as well) but if they have enough water they will reach their full potential, if not, they won't. Misting is absolutely advantageous, and highly recommended. I'm assuming you have an shotgun fruiting chamber. If so, mist those every time they don't look wet, to the best of your ability, and fan every time before you mist. You should have good shrooms if you do that, as long as you don't get contams. That middle cake looks pretty rough. If it doesn't smell funny, leave it in there and mist, see what it does. If it does smell funny, chuck it immediately, and hope the other cakes are okay. Best of luck

Fanning before you mist is like wiping your ass before you shit, completely pointless. Fanning is not FAE. The only reason anyone should be fanning is a swipe or two of the lid after misting to drop the RH and allow evaporation to start right away, but isn't even necessary with a properly built SGFC it will exchange the air on its own and the RH fluctuates.
The only thing you need to do to have the best conditions possible is mist cakes until they are glistening with fine beads of moisture, repeat when they have evaporated.

Can't stress to noobs enough (I still am) less is more with mushrooms. Leave them alone. Spray a few times a day and walk away. Let them do their thing. Don't finger bang the cakes, don't spray the fuck out of them, don't blast them with gale force fans. Spray some water, couple passes with the lid, go on about your business.

Could it be just stressed, because there are loads of pins on the top.can it be bruises from touching a cake ?can it be because of lack of water as I wasn't misting it for 3 days. That colour is already 3 days and got just a little bit darker.

Well, pins does not stress mycelium. Lack of water only dries it. If it's stressed, there's a contam. I haven't really looked at the pics though, you need to upload to the shroomery if you want folks to look at them. Going offsite is not safe.

yeah, i cant really tell, honestly. looks like it was going to have an awesome pinset. but then it also does seem like it might have mold growing on top. OP, can you take a better pic?
someone else might be able to tell, for sure, though.

Let it keep going until it gets fuzzy or covered with mold. Got quite a few pins there that may do their thing.

no, no, no.. fanning is not the same as FAE.
make a proper SGFC, and your cakes will thank you, by giving you more mushrooms. FAE is one of the most important aspects of fruiting.

To some 70 bucks may not be a lot. But having a child and wife and home with bills, on one income of less than 10/ an hour, that's a good chunk of change to spend on something to further enhance my illegal mushroom growing skills.
Just not at the top of the budget list unfortunately.

You could even just tape those holes up on both sides and do that to save you dough if you're not tight I would get another tub or three haha

I also use a soldering iron for my holes. Kinda stinky melting large quantities of plastic and kind of hurts my lungs hah.
I saw someone say they heat a tomato paste can up on the stove and use that to burn cleaner holes. May be an idea to try

Well if you don't have a drill I guess a phillips screwdriver and a torch would work. I have used one in the past to melt holes for airlines on my dwc buckets.

No. Tomato "paste" cans are quite small. As big around as a half dollar I'd say.

this is for his SGFC, though. half dollar size is way too big for SGFC holes. they need to be 1/4in. so use that soldering iron. if the soldering iron is 3mm, like mine, then just double the size by hand. you can use a 1/4in allen wrench or something to check the sizes.

Just not at the top of the budget list unfortunately.
Ya but that 79 could possibly turn that 10 dollars an hour into a tad bit more. Pc will pay 4 itself in a half oz

I never said anything about illicit drug dealing.there are some gourmet and medicinals that could earn u twice as much as any active. Obviously ur somewhat of an imbocile to imply such a travesty

Well, there is only so many shrooms that will get you a PC's worth in cash in half an oz. Seeing that neither you nor OP is in japan, and that this is an active forum, you can easily see to what you were suggesting.
I seem to be well awake, it seem like you are the one who needs to work on your morals. Suggesting to a guy with a wife and kid to sell a class A narcotic is as low as it gets. But by all means, try to dig yourself out of the hole by blaming us for "jumping to conclusions". You ain't fooling anybody.
Dunno about you but not everyone is a , you know.
BTW, anything edible/medicinal that is that expensive is probably both very rare and an outdoor species. I would like to see you trying to cultivate it. But of course, you didn't think that far when you typed in "world's most expensive mushroom" on google.

Fatty they might have been a little extra rough on you but the fact is that posts suggesting what yours was suggesting put the site at risk. No one takes kindly to that. Post less nonsense and see the attitude change. Hell I would give you 5 stars if I thought you were going to post with more respect for the site.
