So i was putting my coir grow (thanks damion 50 50) in my sgfc and i accidentally dropped my grow light on it.... (i know really dumbs careless mistake) probably 2-3 inches wide and maybe around half and inch deep, but i was wondering if its going to be okay? also when you have mold would it just be on the mycelium surface or would it be inside of it too, i think i might have some sort of mold but i took a knife that i carefully flame/alcohol sterilized and cut that small portion (less than the size of a penny) out and everything underneath looked fine

It should recover after dropping something on it. Just think of how much "damage" we cause when we shake grain jars and it will always recover if it's healthy.
Mold grows inside the substrate also, not just on the surface.
You shouldn't ever try to cut out a contamination. It will just spread it. You just have to dump it outside and hope it still grows something. If you weren't sure, you should've asked us first if it was even contaminated.

well here are the suspects in question and theres the part where i cut a small piece out, i think it might just be mycelium covering a gap or something thats why it looks dark under there, kinda like putting a white trash bag over a hole.. but I'm not entirely sure....

I've dropped the fucking light onto my sub before. Left a damned gash in the sub. It still fruited fine. If your spawn is healthy, there's a lot it can suffer.

Cron slammed a sub off the wall once and it pinned, was goddamn libs if ya can believe it
Once in a bipolar fit of rage I threw a sub from a 66 quart mono. Picked up the chunks and tossed em back in the mono and planned to toss it on the compost heap the next day. Well the next day it pinned and had a hell of a flush.

Wait and see. If you cut mold you have to cut around 3" from where you see it at the least. Mold grows faster horizontal so when you finally see it it's like the tip of an iceberg. If you don't get far enough away from it you scatter mold fragments everywhere and they then fuck up your next couple grows. I never cut mold anymore, I just get busy on the next project.

Rethink the setup/lighting is probably the best solution. Get it out of the way

Haven't done this yet, by some miracle.

Strip lights are cool, I just recently installed 7w or 10W strip lights inside my tubs. I need to work on the design though, it's annoying to open them as it is now. Also, if you are using large tubs, 2 smaller strip lights are better than 1 longer one. I'm still getting crooked shrooms with a single long light in the middle. Not really a problem but I like straight shrooms, makes for nice pics.
