How we lost salvia to idiots

It's around this time of year that I first tried salvia many years ago. Ordered some and it came in the mail, I paid by sending money in the envelope lol. Salvia is an incredible entheogen of completely different action than trypts or anything I ever tried before. It was by couple of magnitudes wackier than anything I could imagine. And it was perfectly legal. I knew right away salvia was so special, with virtually no potential for addiction, or criminal behavior or any reason at all why it would catch attention of law. But then came the youtube and an army of morons. Endless stream of idiots who thought it was hilarious to film their buddies while they were tripping. So regular middle class mothers could see their kids drugged out off their mind publicly on the internet and get scandalized about it. Thus we lost an incredible spiritual ally to human stupidity. Without moron posts on youtube salvia would have remained legal for ever, it would have never caught the attention of lawmakers any more than 5-meo-dmt or bufotenine would. And unlike them it had no analogues to get bad reputation by association. Yet we still lost it.
Shrooms can be grown by anyone with half brain, but live salvia plants are rare stuff nowadays. Never got to order my plant, and never got to consume it since prohibition. So all I can say is a great major "fuck you" to every guy who ever posted salvia video on youtube or anyone who think that is funny. If you know anyone like that - please tell him to go smoke some synthetic mj and get his face bitten off.

the first move to ban salvia were made years before youtube was ever created. i agree with you that youtube has been disastrous to salvia reputation but try to look on teh rbight side it is still legal in many states.

It can be pretty unpleasant. Interesting for sure. I can't say I learned much of anything practical that I can integrate into my life. A salvia breakthrough I think is something everyone should experience once just because of how strange it is.

Totally agree with OP, first hallucinogenic I tried after weed. I just nowadays realize how important was it at that time and I treated it as if it was normal. I had my own plant, had some of my greatest trips from it (single leaves). I wish for an other cut so bad...

I'm really disappointed Salvia was also banned where I live (not USA). I had a few plants going years ago, but none since then. Now, finding one is close to impossible.
A few people being idiots is the main reason why so many drugs get/got banned in the first place. I just hope they don't touch ones like DXM, Kratom, kava kava, etc. But I'm sure eventually some dumb kids will OD and there will be new legislation passed.
I'm just glad shroom spores are easy to find and cultivating them is easy. They can never take shrooms away from us, since all you need to be self-sufficient is a first spore print.

I really want to try it. A Psychedelic that acts through the Kappa-Opioid receptors seems ike it would be a unique experience.

It was my first psychedelic as well. I diddnt know what to expect at all, but it totally freaked me out in an amazing way. I smoked it alot after that and really enjoy it except sometimes it feels like my body is getting torn apart from my soul. Salvia is either brutal or brutally beautiful hahaha
