I always selected plants for my designated usda zone, 8b (like t. pachanoi).
But then i figured out it is just a rough estimate, and read about this thing called zone pushing.

For me this means i can use a perennial for LSA, hawaiian baby woodrose, it makes me ecstatic.

I'd love to hear more experiences with growing things where they are not supposed to grow!

Indoors always works. Im not supposed to grow cacao but i do. In the extreme heat and under the shade. Texas sun will kill it. Erythroxylum in shade too and i water everyday. Mitragyna with lots of water. But your best bet is indoors for what cant be grown outdoors. Oh and i grow wasabi on a windowsil and water every other day.

I grew Mexican desert cacti in Scotland - not renowned for its sun and warmth.  I used a heated greenhouse.

Now I live in a warmer climate the same cacti live outdoors all year.

Maybe some mod or whatever might think this has now been long enough.
