I just have a question about these two BRF cakes i have.
THEY are both producing fruits, just theyve been super duper slow and skinny/small fruits. And only one or two big ones per cake.
I just don't know about them.. Ive read about marshmellow blobs and other types of mutant pins but these arnt fitting those description to well.
What do you all think? Im honestly ready to toss them cause there freaking me out a bit.. Lol

Goddess, they turned that way because they were forced to abort. Whenever you have more pins than moisture/FAE to support the growth, they abort. APE is infamous for aborting it's little ass off.
When TC said they looked neglected, that's what happened. Once they abort, they don't start growing again. So, if your cakes got dry, or the FC didn't support enough air movement for them, they stall and then stop. No watering or fanning will get those back, but at least they're good to eat.
When you do your dunk and roll at birth, try and add more verm. Really get it on there, put a little mound on top. Wait a good 30-40minutes before lightly misting the cakes until they glisten. Next time you get a bigger pinset like that, you'll need to consider bottom watering to support all that growth. You can set the cakes in clean saucers or lids or whatever of water. Just be sure to change the water daily at least.
Do you have a picture of your fruiting chamber?

Ok cool. Thank you so much for your nice response. That makes sense.
But doesnt standing water at their base hurt them?
Also do you think these cakes are done?or should i try to dunk again.
Also i did do the double end casing after about a week if them being in the FC.

don't fret! set that cake in your SGFC in a dish of clean water. Change the water daily, $$$$$ Profit. You'll be amazed at what you can still get from that cake.
Wait to harvest until the veils start to tear.
but a couple fruits in the first pics look a little shabby. You may want to pick those before they get necrotic. The last pics have some beauties though.

Excessive bruising 99% of the time indicates it got too dry and didn't have enough moisture. Rolling in verm helps prevent this because it holds much more water on the surface of the mycelium.
It also means that they weren't getting misted enough. They even look dry in the pics, they need to be misted more frequently. Also try putting the cakes in a saucer of water when there's big pinsets so it can draw out more water.
As said by others take pics of your chamber and surrounding area.

Chambers actually looking good IMO. You can leave the door open and bring it further away from the wall for the best airflow, but still looking good to me. They just needed to be rolled in more verm and/or misted more frequently. Also left in a saucer of water.

I def rolled, and i used a mix of fine and coarse. I will make sure to use more tho. See i was actually misting like 5-6 times a day, with sometimes adding some extra water drops on top. I thought it was to much. Guess not. I will dunk that baby and do the saucer!
Thank you fellas ssoooooo much. Ive been trying so hard to make them happy!
About the saucer and water... Do i let that water evaporate like once or twice a day? Or make sure its there all the time, just changing it daily? And how deep? Like a centimeter? Half a centimeter?

Mad season.. The FC is a foot n a half from my bed, thats what you see.. And 2 feet off the floor. That cool? Maybe i should drill an extra couple holes to get better FAE?

Change the water daily. And not deep at all like maybe 1/8-1/4 inch.
Just move it like another foot and a half from the bed. Middle of the room is always best. 2 feet high is plenty. You gotta mist the perlite down good once a day too .
You want to keep the mycelium/verm glistening with misting as well.

Ive gotten some massives from the cakes... Like 2/3 g dry, and about 6, 7, inches long when picked.. Its just seeming like Thats all the cakes can handle putting out. Like those couplee giants take everything.. Is that how this works with cakes? Cause ive seen some epic canopys off cakes where theyre alllll like 4+ inches.
Im starting a bulk this weekend. Cakes are a bit more difficult for me.
