Tim Leary, Richard Alpert, Andrew Weil & Huston Smith - The 60s Harvard Psychedelic Club.
In one of his books, Smith had a powerful telepathic experience on 'shrooms - or so he thought. When he later asked the other person he allegedly communicated with, he discovered it was all in his imagination.

Telepathy is fun, on most of my trips I exchange energy through eye contact, we end up morphing each others minds to the point we have to say stop.
I guessed a number my girlfriend was thinking about 5 times in a row between 1 and 50 pretty easy when you listen and feel

Telepathy is a natural unconscious event. All communications have a telepathic counterpart.
Ancient indigenous people used hypnosis to induce a trance to the level of somnambulism. In that state, researchers notice an abundance of what they term "transference". Basically the church controls academia and medicine, so they are avoiding using the word telepathy.
The ancients kept all historical records in the unconscious mind using this trance. It's last social name was "The Pagan Trance". Because of the telepathy, not only were the details of the history having to do with physical events recorded through the verbal aspect, but the feelings of the people who communicated the oral history were also recorded.
This create problems like feuding, because a people remembered difficult things from the past too long. When the Indigenous American leadership heard of the written word prolifically applied to a book, they thought it was a very good tool allowing "forgetting"of a difficult oral history. Or, committing the knowledge to the written word rather than giving up its potential value in the future while removing it from oral histories preventing the difficult feelings between people it might cause.
The indigenous Americans also had a concept they called "The Echo Society". Because of the telepathic information shared during verbal communication, feelings and emotions can be communicated. When this is done as in gossip, the gossip can go in a circle and return via telepathy where a person who is the subject of gossip is confronted by one who has heard it, but does not say so. The person who is the subject of the gossip still feels the emotional/spiritual "echo" of the gossip or its intent.

Okay, yes read the trilogy, enjoyed it massively.
And yes, there is something in the unconscious existence that shares time. There is an ancient term, " the oneness", Indigenous medicine people say it is a realm of intention. But that is in time which is regulated by a "circadian rhythm", which might be shared, and based on the cycles of our star which is shared.

I believe I have an explanation for telepathy. Some of you have mentioned having experiences with “important” people in our lives. Loved ones, family, or people we are just thinking about constantly re receptive to our tele pathetic/energy waves. Think of telepathy as a walkie-talkie. In order for you to communicate with your intended recipient, you must first agree to use a designated channel. In other words, we are only able to communicate with people who have subconsciously agreed to communicate with us, or who have accepted our energy waves. This is why it is highly unlikely to telepathically communicate with strangers or those we don’t know very well; they aren’t sensitive to our energy frequencies.
Let’s take a moment to discuss the “communication” aspect of telepathy. I don’t believe it is “currently” possible to transmit actual thoughts. I cannot send you messages and you cannot read my thoughts. If you happened to guess the color, word, number, or anything else that I was thinking about; you got lucky. “Feelings”, in my experience, are the only things capable of being transmitted telepathically. Say you are listening to the radio and a song comes on which reminds you of your best friend. Now you are thinking of that memory and your friend. This opens the “channel” to contact your friend. You may even receive a text, shortly after, to which you’ll likely respond with “Hey I was just thinking of you”. This often happens with those who are very close, think best friends or soul mates. These types of people will always have their telepathic channel open to you because they will likely be thinking of you throughout the day; keeping you in their thoughts and their heart. The first few times this happens, it may just be coincidence but pay attention and you WILL notice these “coincidences” becoming more frequent; results will vary from person to person.
Science hasn’t found a good way to describe the super natural, though the concept of “energy” is defiantly real. I would imagine that there are tribal peoples who communicate exclusively through non-verbal means. Someone mentioned how much of our communication is non-verbal, relying more on feeling and tone. Think of all the time’s you’ve locked eyes with a total stranger, maybe it even happened in a crowded area. How could you possibly be aware of the other person watching you? There are many discoveries to be made, in relation to greater human “abilities” or “powers”. I can’t wait for science to finally explain this. Embrace your super powers.

Yes, that would be another form of telepathy. The point about sharing feelings is critical.
But there is some indication that more than just feelings are sometimes communicated. The Phenomena of transference during hypnosis has shown to carry other info too. But the emotional is dominant.
Joeseph Campbell spoke of things he called "archetypes". A high level of recognition of many facts seem to be possible when several archetypes are engaged. A theory I have is that the archetypes surround highly familiar sets of action with emotions that have relationships to needs of the individuals where the archetype is engaged.
This would be somewhat consistent with ancient Grecian concepts of lessor Gods and their interplay with the greater known by the self.
