Would you go skydiving by yourself? 1

meaning without friends or anyone you know.
All my friends always stall or don't have the money and it gets pushed off to the following year, year after year. I have absolutely nothing to do this saturday and they have openings so I'm tempted to just say fuck it and go solo. I wanted someone to go with because I'm nervous as all hell and think it would be easier with someone I know going too but it's basically now or never lol

Just do it. Lots of things are still fun doing it by yourself. Once you're at it you're not really doing it with them anyway.

I've done it 3 times, but each time I was with my mom and various people.
It's definitely worth doing.... And if you have to do it alone to get it done, so be it.
Do it, man.

What's it like? Like what benefits do you receive from it? I would imagine it's its own high of some sort. A crazy "free" feeling that releases shitloads of chemicals in the brain.

The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

Can't really explain it well.... It's pretty much what you'd figure it to be, only more intense.

This guy on "jackass" jumped out of a plane without a parachute and no clothes or something, and then another guy WITH a parachute flew down to grab ahold of the unparachuted guy. That must have been a pretty crazy experience to sky dive naked.

My issue with skydiving has always been having someone strapped to my back, going through hours of training, or jumping and immediately having the chute open. All of that sounds ridiculously boring and lame. I would have to jump somewhere where there aren't strict rules. I dig the adrenaline of the free fall, the peacefulness of the whole experience, and the view. I feel like a 30 minute training would suffice for me. The added risk would be worth avoiding the rules. how hard can it be? Which cord to pull, what position to be in. What the backup procedure is. What altitude to deploy the chute. How to steer the parachute and land. How long can that really take?
As far as people with me, I would be happy if my wife came to cheer me on. She doesn't have to jump too.

It was Travis Pastrana, from Nitro Circus, among other things.

I only had to sit thru one 10 minute video each time.
No clue what else you're talking about.

Did that years ago. I had a crazy work schedule and it was impossible to coordinate with my friends to I said fuck it I'm going by myself.
Made sure I was completely sober my first time to get the full effect.
I went last since I was the only solo person so I ended up in the last plane with all of the instructors. Had a blast and signed up for my second jump that same day.
Its like going to a concert by yourself, I love having my friends around but sometimes I just want to get into an experience without any distractions.
DO IT!!!!!!!!!

I thought you meant by myself as in 'not in tandem'.
I've done three now (in tandem) and on the last the guy said to me 'mate, why don't you get your licence to jump solo? It's only £10 per jump once you've got your licence and your gear'
That got me thinking..
But looking into it, it's about £5000 for licence and £6000 for gear. Too steep for me, but imagine rocking up to an airfield with a tent, and doing 20 jumps over the course of the weekend... you know damn well about half of those would be done tripping too.

This is gonna be fucking amazing by the way man. I reckon it's hard not be be a little nervous on the first one (should've seen the look on one guys face on my first..), but by the time you get to the 2nd, and you know what's coming... man, then the fun really begins.

I did it with my buddy the first time. I don't think it made it any better because it was tandem.
If you have gear and are jumping solo then it would be better with a bunch of buddies.

This is us right before my latest jump. My girlfriend, friend, and myself. My mom jumped, too, but she was behind the camera here.

You're gonna have a blast. Good shit, mang

I was gifted a suprise jump by my partner, It was great but I was stoned of my rocker luckily it was tandem. My only gripe was that I felt too safe the bloke was excellent and I knew I'd be ok plus getting out of the shit box plane was a relief. A solo jump imo would be the ultimate rush.

So....I've always had one fear about sky diving...and it's probably going to sound really stupid.
But I remember hearing a few times during my lifetime that if you were to, for example, fall off of a cliff, that your heart would explode and kill you before you actually reached the bottom.
I feel dumber as I keep typing this.
So is there a chance your heart would explode before you pull your parachute?
