Something about the dark
    #23451675 - 07/18/16 01:01 AM (7 years, 7 months ago)

It seems that every time i ingest mushrooms i feel like i almost subconsciously seek out the  darkness. Now that i sit here and actually think about it ive only ever tripped in the evening or night time.

Over all, for me atleast, i feel that the night, or even a dark room provides so much comfort and relaxation.

I dont think i purposely avoid day tripping, but, even if i know im gonna eat a few grams on a particular day, it seems like my mind will come up with a bunch of tasks that need to be done that day (even though my schedule was free) and i dont get around to eating my mushies till later in the evening.

Anyone else find that after indulging in shrooms, that darkness is almost gravitational? it just feels good

The dark changes the way you interpret light sources and when tripping you appreciate and "see" it differently. I was always a night tripper, didnt even consume until dark to appreciate the colors/trails much more.I was "convinced" to do a day trip recently and as I suspected it was not nearly as good IMHO. We all have our habits and preferences but "tripping" I prefer darkness as well.

U can hallucinate much better in the dark as there is no stimulus, which may also lead to a more introspective trip. I personally prefer tripping in the day time because if i trip at night it messes up my sleep routine but I totally understand where you are coming from. Everyone has their preferences

I also take them at sundown/night. Partly because I am more relaxed at that time and I can guarantee I won't feel as much anxiety.

Sometimes I feel sleepy too, which greatly increases the experience...

Holding me at bay
And I don't need your sympathy
To get me through the day
Seasons change and so can I
Hold on boy, no time to cry
Untie these strings, I'm climbing down
I won't let them push me away

Honestly, my nighttime trips are way better than my daytime ones, but I still prefer daytime. I tripped in my room in complete darkness one time and it was too much of a sensory overload. My room was taken over with visuals and I couldn't tell if my eyes were open or closed. Made me kinda terrified..

I always get to that point or i did it wrong! I trip so often that i use my room as its own source of day/night if the lights are out it feels nighttimey if they are on its daytime. Ive had a few memorable trips that were in complete darkness but felt like day because of how hard i was tripping

Haha i totally know what u guys mean, its like the hallucinations are so strong that you blink and still see your room when ur eyes are closed.
Love it.

No day trips are the best.

I've had unplanned trips always at night but that's it. I never "made up" stuff to do in the day while waiting for the night. I wanna trip in the day so I get decent visuals.

Well I read where Terence McKenna said to take 5 grams in total darkness. I usually do an eighth to a quarter so I thought I would do fine, but man was I wrong. I'd say it was "terrifyingly beautiful".

So you took 5 grams? Yea I've only done that dose a few times in darkness. Most of the time I would do eighths in darkness and that was already quite intense.

I would agree that LSD is more practical in the day, largely because you can't get to sleep for so long. Drop in the morning and you'll be okay by bed time.

I'm a night tripper. I've had some great day trips, but I like it better when the world is in for the night. Too much chance of people needing something from me during the day.

I worded that wrong, i dont mean literally just making up shit to do out of nowhere , more like getting heavily sidetracked and unplanned series of events happening that day, to clarify.

Well it does tend to happen sometimes like my second to last shroom trip but it kind of pissed me off. The one after that was also another night one but it was completely unexpected. Me and my buddy were just chilling in his room smoking hash and he just busts out the shrooms.
