Need some advice.

22. In college 2nd year. Dont know what the fuck i wanna do. Wasting money not holding interest in classes. On academic probation cos I flunked some gen Ed's last semester.
I wanna drop out. I have a business opportunity to move to Atlanta and take a high risk shot at being this guy's partner in the jewelry and art industry. We are both wireweaving and make handmade jewelry but he has a $20,000 mineral collection and offered me his hand in business. Wants me to meet him in Atlanta at the end of the month.
I want to do this. I want to take off and pursue my dreams in art and traveling. But my family. They are going to be disappointed. My whole life ive lived in the expectations and confines of what they think is best. They want me to go to college and get a degree in the medical industry or something lucrative whIle my love and passion lies in art. What the fuck do i do? I'm supposed to re enroll this week
But I don't fucking want to. I rather travel and pursue my dream in the art and jewelry business.

Yeah, drop out man. If you're going to continue failing because of lack in interest, you're just blowing yours and other people's money staying in. You have a long life ahead of you, no need to rush through college for the most part. Wait until you get your focus in order.

Go to an art shop, buy some shit and start doing what you wanna do
Shops like Michaels or Hobby Lobby or Jo-ann Fabrics alllways have coupons for like 30-50 percent off anything every day, look online for them on their websites and just whip em out on yer fone at checkout.
also, if you shop at Michaels you get extra discount coupons with your receipts. They have an expiration date, but they don't ask questions if you cut the dates off

Yo there's not much opportunity in the jewlry and art business. Its not easy selling large ammounts of jewlry. I think its such a bad idea as there are already huge multi million dollar companies that you just cannot compete with.
If you do this, youre gonna be peddeling jewlrey like a hippy at a feativle and youre not going to make a living. That doesn't sound like a good idea. That jewlry doesn't look worthwhile either.
A mineral collection is not worth anything.
Also that copper type jewlry is already being mass produced in China and stuff. It's not that attractive. We all know so many people who are "making jewelry now". It's a bad idea man. Finish school. Don't dishonor your famiry!!!!!

I wish i had stayed in school instead of fucking off all over the country homeless.
Then again i'd have missed out on alot of experiences.
there's got to be a balance somewhere. In fact, i'm sure there is. We just tend to live in extremes.

Those are some valid points as well.
Perhaps the reason you're unhappy is because of what you're going to college for? Is there any chance you can change your major towards a career you'd find tolerable?

Or you could go to an actual jewelry school and take gia courses. I'm sure your parents would support that. Wirewrapping is wirewrapping and every road hippie does it.
I also have a high end American mined pegmatite mineral collection worth well over 20k. It doesn't make me any money, but lures people into my booth where they look at everything rather than glancing as they walk by.

This post here's explains well why you should just forget about the jewlry thing.
Worth 20k but makes you no money????
Jewlry classes instead of college?

I sell other stuff. A collection is a collection and only other collectors buy or trade within collections. I mine and sell literal tons of rough material, slabs, polished pieces, cabs, spheres, and jewelry.
