They came from a print a member here gifted to me. Supposed to be GT, but quite obviously they are NOT. I know there's bacterial contam. I'm most concerned with having some mystery mushroom sent to me, having NO CLUE if they're even safe to consume.
Thank you!

i would like to know also. i was the person who gave Kinoko the GT print. and at that time, i had 3 or 4 GT prints, and thats it. no other varieties, at all. I grew the GT myself, and printed them myself, inside SAB. there would be no possible way of the print being anything except for Cube, GT variety.
I think the specific print was taken from on of these fruits, actually:

My hypothesis it this: either the steam sterilizing was insufficient and microscopic spores/myc from those species somehow got into the jars and survived and grew, or the steaming worked fine, but then the microscopic spores/myc from those got into the jars during, or even after, inoculation or something. Which could definitely be the case, considering:

I would like to know, though, what these are, and if this has happened to other people, before. usually its a contam/bacteria that will ruin a grow, and not other mushroom species barging in and taking over the cakes..
really crazy stuff, here.Looks liek some kinda shelf mushrooms, and maybe even oysters-like stuff on one.
So anyone?

Looks like Trichaptum biforme or a similar species.

I have seen this happen before with other species.

please don't think i'm upset, mupet!! i got some INCREDIBLE fruits with killer, beautiful clusters from one print. the other print is the one the pics above are from.
i'd like to do mupetmower justice by showing off the beautiful forst flush from the one print that did produce gt. the dude hooked it up, and i have over a dozen prints from the fruits it printed, some of which i intend to gift to the members here, and others to close personal friends. the dude hooked it up! i'm in no way trying to slam mupetmower. i just want to know what i'm looking at, and get some insight about what could have happened. nothing here is meant to bash anyone.

yeah, kinoko, i know you didnt mean it that way. im not mad or anything. was just really surprised, and taken aback by it.
i was also really curious as to what/how that happened. shit's crazy! never seen that happen. im really glad you actually did get some fruits from them, though! im still in awe about that, though. i dont even know what i would think if it happened to me =p
But, again, i am really glad at least something good came out of those prints. i mean, i guess there couldve been some way the foreign spores/myc got into the print from the creation of the print.. it was in a SAB, but we fruit in open air, so idk.. also, if a couple foreign spres/myc got onto the print, it would be such a huge coincidence that those were picked up by the swab(or loop of however you did it) and put to the agar. and then even more coincidental is that those few spores/myc would outgrow all the rest of the cube spores, and take over the entire cake.. crazy stuff.
i really dont know. if it was my fault from the printing, then im really sorry, and im glad the other produced actual cubes.
i feel like i should send you another print. d you want another? i have a few more GT, from later flushes of the same grow. I think i have a few duplicates that someone gave me from a giveaway, too. im gonna send some.
ill PM you. =p
