48,741 galaxies. Each dot is a galaxy. Our galaxy has about 300,000,000,000 stars in it. If we assume that this is average, then there are at least 14,622,300,000,000,000 stars in the universe. If each of those stars has an average of two planets, that's 29,244,600,000,000,000 planets. If each of those planets has on average one moon, then that's a total of 58,489,200,000,000,000 planets and moons in the universe this one image alone. The universe is much, much larger.
We think we're so important, but we are very, very tiny. What do you think it's like out there? Hospitable? Are there beautiful earthlike worlds just waiting be colonized? Alien plants and animals and maybe even civilizations, or are we the only ones lucky enough to experience life? Will humanity ever make it out there?

Out of those figures of course there are other civilizations. It's not even a farfetched idea, it would be a statistical certainty, with those numbers, for there to not only to be other civilizations, but ones which are more than likely profoundly more advanced than our own.
It's a big, big place. And for all we know that's only a tiny glimpse at the whole of it.

Oops, I got this wrong, I'm a bit high sorry guys: This is just the amount of moons and planets IN THIS ONE IMAGE. The universe is much, much larger.
