lobbying isnt making the laws and at any point in time you can actively lobby congress yourself, you can also run for political office and the very least you can do is to vote the anti drug electorate out of office
also, dont you support the unions? such as the police union that is the actual anti-drug lobby that you're now saying is the problem? koods, are you actually anti drug?

Yup, they are just as much a part of the problem as anybody else up the line. Sorry.

Tragic. We all know guns aren't the problem, though. Maybe if they didn't want to get shot they shouldn't have been cops? (I'm being sarcastic, BTW, and I am not anti gun at all. Although I do think maybe we should not let suspected terrorists on the no fly list buy them. That kinda seems like a good idea..)
Seriously, though, what do you guys think is the solution to the violence against police? Do you guys think they just need to come down extra hard on BLM or something? Because I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work....
Or do you guys not even care about solutions and you just like complaining about how unfair it is that you can't have your white lives matter protest?

should we let deny people that drink a beer on occasion a driver's license?
I could agree with the terrorist watch list if it didnt completely eliminate due process so if they want to come up with a list of convicted terrorists that shouldnt be allowed to buy a gun then I'm all for it

I think there should be a law passed that says if you deliberately block a roadway as a form of protest then you're responsible for you own injuries and the damage to the vehicles that ran you over for your foolishness. that would certainly eliminate some of the BLM issues
cops know about the dangers of the job, they dont deserve any special treatment

I actually pretty much agree with all that.
And I'm also not sure about denying people the right to own guns if they are on the terrorist watch list.
Of course it seems like a good idea in theory, but oftentimes those types of laws end up getting used in the wrong way it seems.
I really have no idea what the solution is, besides decriminalization of all drugs.
Obviously that wouldn't fix all the problems, but I know that would be the solution to my own personal issues with the police. I know I don't speak for everybody on that, though.
It sure seems like it would at least help deescalate a lot of this tension between cops and citizens, though.

The better solution, instead of banning people on the no fly list from getting them, would be actually finding terrorists and stopping them BEFORE they strike, the Orlando shooter was identified before he went shooting and the FBI was remiss to do anything.
Surely a guy who pledged his support to Isis and threatens to kill his coworkers family shouldn't just be let go to go about his business.
If we ban gun buying from people on the no fly list, they will use trucks, or pressure cookers, or anything else they can get their hands on to kill people.
Personally, I'd rather stop them before they strike than be reassured that "they won't use a gun" to commit mass murder

I couldn't agree more. It is unbelievable to me that a guy that went to the shooters mosque FUCKING TOLD THE FBI that he was sketch and they didn't do anything.
Why the hell are we giving up all our freedoms to help them find fucking terrorists if they aren't going to do shit when they find them?
edit: I know they can't just arrest people with no real evidence. But can't they at least keep a closer eye on him or something? Maybe at least somehow be notified if he recently bought some guns or something?
I can't help but wonder if the cops would be doing a better job of stopping terrorists if they weren't trying to stop drug use...

Maybe if you don't want to be a cop in a state where people have the right to carry guns, you should quit your job.

apparently it takes nothing to get put on a terrorist watch list these days, simply having a different political view, blogging about conservative politics, and being a firearm owner can all get you placed on a watch list if someone decides to claim you're a danger and you may have no idea that you're on a list because no one is required to ell you, getting your name removed is apparently proving to be a special challenge. these things completely eliminate due process and screw millions, you can see a small part of it on how people are placed on no fly lists

I believe in legalization, decriminalization still allows for monetary sanctions and confiscation and in most cases allow for criminal penalties for repeat offenders. it wont fix the BLM problems because if you look, most of these people were doing shit unrelated to drugs and the legal status of drugs had nothing to do with their reactions to being confronted by the cops and based on the statistics, white people are even dumber about this shit than blacks
here's a solution. stop policing the predominately black areas, stop investigating black on black crime, stop arresting blacks for crimes against other blacks and tell them "this is what you wanted, you handle it because it's a black thang"

Apparently this cop had seen him hanging around the Philadelphia drug corners picking up drugs every now and then, and popped him to try to search him shortly after he thought he had picked up.
When the cop found nothing, the cop actually sprinkled crack on him to frame him. And now he is being charged with some BS crime for picking up crack.
I was like, "What? Sprinkled crack?" Yo that's like a bad comedy skit. Dave Chapelle and other comedians talk about that shit all the time, WTF
I dont believe it
Cops have been caught framing people specifically with crack cocaine
He's apparently trying to fight the charges, via evidence like lack of his fingerprints on the baggie of crack. If he had picked it up, there should be his fingerprints all over the bag, presumably. But it's really an uphill battle and dependent on luck whether you are found guilty or not guilty.

That's not the story. The story, is that he has been harassed non-stop ever since he has filmed that incident. The cops knew who he was, and targeted him, until they caught him with something. That, or they possibly planted evidence on him to incarcerate him.
If you read into the story more, you'll find that Orta refused to eat while in Rikers' Jail, because he claimed that they were trying to poison his food in prison. He was also charged with domestic assault against his wife, a charge that his own wife says is false and was fabricated by the police to take him to jail.
