Wholarian
    #23450130 - 07/17/16 02:46 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Peter Ragnar, a Western Qi Qong master, and his wife are Wholarian - i believe a word they created, although that is a feeling and not something i have read. . .

I wondered if it was vegetarian or what not - my understanding is that it's vegan with an emphasis on raw foods. . . etc. . .

Ragnar made the interesting point a long time ago - 'if I have more energy when I go to sleep than when I wake up. . . , then is not, immortality possible?'  (paraphrased. . . )

in the article, 'If you're conscious, how can you die?'

To give a little contextual background to this -- Taoism, of which Ragnar is a practitioner,

has two sort of main views on the topic of immortality -- One of them, was and is very common - was / is the search for immortality . . .

Through herbs, and simple living, and this sort of thing.  In fact, simple living is a significant part of it --

For instance, when asked about why people are not in as perfect health as they used to be, a sage answered along the lines of - 'In ancient times, people lived simply. . . they cultivated their understanding of the Tao, took care of themselves, and lived happy lives
(this is from memory),
and a lot of emphasis was on harmony, balance, and following the way of heaven.

Oh, and meditation.  A lot of the cultivation of these things is also about having a peacefulmind. . .

(I am humbly always looking to learn a little bit about this  )

For instance, the lovely verse by Liezi (a little bit less known than Laoze; fairly equally beautiful and wholesome; complementing each other very nicely...)...

and, I just realized, it is Li Bo who wrote the one I am thinking of.. .

it was,

You ask me why I live on Green Mountain –
I smile in silence and the quiet mind.
Peach petals blow on mountain streams
To earths and skies beyond Humankind.

so that's all..  just a ramble.

i mentioned two sort of approaches -- the other one as i understand;

is very sort of similar - all the factors of simple living, cultivating understanding of the Tao -  are all central too, but - not so much with an aim for immortality, perhaps.

Anyway :sun:

Peace

i would say now, upon thinking about it just a bit, that Wholarian is probably vegan - with an implementing of the other things as well; simple living, closeness with nature, and cultivation of health, by those methods; etc.
