Are there any UFC fans in the pub?

I am 29 years old and have become completely obsessed with mixed martial arts and the UFC.
I find watching the athletes and their performances incredibly motivating and inspiring.
The courage, determination, skill and tenacity of the fighters is profoundly moving to me, and I take real heart in my own life from seeing the way they push themselves and overcome incredible adversity with honour and valor.
As a martial artist, I also feel like I learn a lot from watching the fights, and as an athlete I try to model my own workout regimine on the way they train for fights.
As entertainment, I find the fights enormously exhilarating and the human drama that plays out and the personalities of the fighters fascinate me .
I have taken to training intensely for up to four hours a day, and often watch UFC fights as I do my technique training and my strength and conditioning.
I was wondering if there are any other fans of UFC here, because I would enjoy having someone to talk about it with.
I have never been a fan of sports before and I finally understand what people get out of following sports closely.
So, are there any fans here ? Who are your favorite fighters ?
And is there anyone else here who trains any martial arts , or even mixed martial arts ?
My own background is in Judo, which I trained in for years and used to compete in. That gave me a base of take down and grappling skills, and now I am working every day to improve my striking skills with kickboxing / Muay Thai practice .
I am also taking my strength and conditioning to a new level, and I believe my new obsession with UFC has really helped me to blow past the fitness plateau I was stuck at .
It's also really revolutionized my mindset, Outlook and attitude .
I am going to begin attending a kickboxing class and an MMA "fight" class at my local gym, and get into either a jujitsu or a Krav Maga class ASAP.
I will not engage in any striking sparring because of the new understanding of the cumulative harm of head trauma , but will/am training intensively in all other aspects of fighting.
I am also taking a testosterone catalyst which has really helped my condition and I think the combination of the testosterone catalyst , the workouts and the UFC is changing all aspects of my mind and body.
Anyways just wanted to open up a discussion of any and all facets of martial arts and UFC.

I've seen a grand total of one UCF fight in my life 5 years ago, and I was blown away by the intensity and the sheer devotion it takes to master such an art form. I have no idea where or how to watch it though, and I never got further into it.
Is there any way I can stream MMA fights online?
I hope to pick up a martial art at some point in my life, and soon. Feel it would work wonders for my psyche.

no.

(Grain-to-Grain) Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

When I lived in Cali I had a buddy who ordered fights all the time...just about every event he could. Ever since I left I haven't watched any but was following the sport by reading about it on mmajunkie. These days I feel the UFC is a bit of a joke with soooo many rematches. I wouldn't watch it anyway if I could afford to. There are too many fighters in the organization for rematches out the ass like they do now.

I'm a huge mma fan and followed the UFC closely for many years. I've kind of strayed away from it a bit in the past 6 years. But still watch it and follow it a little
It's the only sport I've ever understood or got into.
I agree with your assessment. They are phenomenal athletes
I have a long and strong background in shotokan karate, wrestling and some judo.
I have also been in my fair share of real scraps when I was a younger man.
I love talking about UFC.
I downloaded UFC 200 but haven't watched it yet. No spoilers!
My favourite fighters are: (many are retired now)
1) George st Pierre 2) Anderson silva 3) lyoto machida 4) fedor 5) vitor Belfort 6) Shane carwin 7) Jon Jones (he's a clown but a phenomenal athlete)

You need to register in one of the probably infinite UFC/MMA message boards out there, broseph. There's an MMA thread in the shroomery sports forum that stays pretty active, but if you really wanna get in depth then you'll want to find you a true UFC board.
I'm a hardcore boxing fan myself and I found me a great fucking board to get my boxing discussion fix taken care of. That's the only other forum I actively and regularly participate in outside of this one.

Fav 5 fighters:
Alistair Overeem - who will be taking the belt from Stipe. Venom Page Robbie Lawler Bas Rutten Wanderlei Silva
If you have the chance, get the movie: Smashing Machine . It's about Mark Kerr, and it is really interesting. I've watched it 3 or 4 times. It shows the amount of pain some of these guys go through, and the rabbit hole of pain meds. You'll notice appearances by Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Bas, and quite a few other players.

Eh, at this point UFC athletes all fight the same.
Its a mixed martial art, in the singular form. As much as I respect their strength as fighters, its not a martial art which I find entertaining or care to watch.
Also just not a fan of watching sports, dealing with all the bs that goes into it (like Mayweather style boxing, mainstream futbol everything, olympic TKD and fencing bs point system, the list goes on).

"Eh, at this point UFC athletes all fight the same."
This is simply untrue. Fighters have very distinct styles and skill sets, relying to different degrees on different martial arts.
But it is true that no one comes into the octagon relying on a single martial art any more. Any fighter who wants to be competitive must have a solid base in both grappling and striking skills.
But those skills can come from Karate (Lyoto Machita), Kickboxing (Mark Hunt, Alistair Overeem), Judo (Hector Lombard, Ronda Rousey). Sambo (Khabib Nurgomedov), Jujitsu (Fabricio Werdum) etc.

Ok, but that's a bizarrely implausible opinion to anyone who actually follows The sport.

bub, it doesnt sound like you gave it an honest go. if you said that about boxing, i would agree.. you can def see the difference between the individual fighters skill sets.
but hey man to each their own.
