Copelandia Cyanescens grow with pftek / cow manure
    #23448947 - 07/17/16 07:15 AM (7 years, 6 months ago)

New grower(!) Just planning to grow copelandia cyanescens with pftek / brf cakes and cow manure.

I read 50/50 casing method, i'll stick with that.

1. I can crumble with cheese grater instead "cut them like a cucumber into slices about 2-3" thick" method?
Or you suggest leave them whole?

2. Can i also use Gypum and Crushed olyster shell for my manure based case?

Any advice? Thank you

1. Crumble until they're all in tiny pieces. You want to increase the amount of colonization points within your bulk sub, if you plan to spawn to trays/monotubs.

2. I would skip the oyster shell, it's not really necessary.
Definitely add a bit of gypsum in there and you should be good to go.

Sterilize the jars for 90 minutes at 15 psi, then inoculate them using very clean procedures in your SAB or in front of a flowhood.

Is that right?
1. Fill up jars with brf/verm/cow manure
2. Fully colonize it
3. Put dry verm on bottom of case
4. Crumble colonised cake onto dry verm layer
5. Put some verm/gypsum/brf mixture top of case layer

no, part 1-2 is right but for nr 3 either fruit them or crumble/cheese grate into a tray with pasteurized manure. no brf.
mix cakes + manure evenly, no verm on bottom and layered stuff.

But when i check this: https://www.shroomery.org/8418/How-do-I-cultivate-Panaeolus-cyanescens
That part: Once your substrate is fully colonized, crumble and case with 50/50

So when i follow 50/50 here: https://www.shroomery.org/54/50-50-Casing-Tek
It says : Take vermiculite, Then drop about 1/2" layer across the bottom of your container.
Next, take a mixture of 50% peat moss and 50% vermiculite, just lightly place it over the mycelium layer, about a 1/2" to 3/4" just so it covers the mycelium layer.

Is that wrong?

It's a very old method. Not wrong persay, just we have better ways to do stuff now.

Also your step 5 mentioned a brf mix, never ever add flour of any kind to bulk substrate or casing mixes. That is guaranteed mold.
