i want to make a little extract to micordose mescaline with but damn, finding some torches of good size is a little annoying to say the least avalon has a plant 25-30cm for under £30 but with shipping came back up to £30 and thought about getting some truffles too as they are on offer with a further summer sale too then noticed at the checkout there was no paypal or even basic card payment! though i did see wire transfer but wasn't sure how much further fuss this was going to be...
i have found a bolivian torch on ebay which appears to be the strongest or most potenet of the torches, its a cluster with a the tallest plant 28cm and the pot measures 14cm, this is from out of the country though and £46 inc delivery which is a lot better value than avalon imo since the plant will grow and i can use the smaller ones to sample but wan't planning on spending so much.
can i just get a youthfull plant to try microdosing, is using a fuller grown plant going to have "better" mescaline content?

One thing to note is Bolivian and Peruvian torch are 2 entirely different kinds of Trich, both are active but they have different alkaloid content.
Bolivian torch is known as bridgesii and contains unique MAOi's that make it the most consistently potent.
Getting a cluster like that may be your best bet. To answer your other question yes older/ bigger plants will probably be more potent but its impossible to say.
If you don't want to wait then get something like what you posted, or maybe find a bundle for 2-3 decent sized cuttings then test some and plant the rest.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

If you're not aware of the lovely Ethnobotanical forum, you should really check it out, lots of good info there regarding cacti, and other things.
