Master jars started fruiting
    #23443714 - 07/15/16 11:42 AM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Shit. So this month got fucked and I never got around to G2G my grain masters. Im leaving for a couple weeks so I was also trying to time so I dont need to harvest while Im gone also.

These are clones, all untested , each quart is getting G2G into 4qt spawn bags. The bright side is thet look like good fruiters!

I know its best to G2G ASAP after colonization and use spawn quickly. I also know its OK to G2G pins because they're just myc.

But since these are gunna do about 15 tubs- do you guys think I should go ahead and use them as masters or should I start new masters. Only 4 started pinning already, Im gunna stick them in the fridge untill I can G2G

Thanks,

Mushpunx

If you have them stored on agar I would make new gms.
If i didn't then I'd go with g2ging with the fruits and all.

Youd be like two weeks behind if you started new gms now.
Or you could do both g2g these and start 15 transfers as well

But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go
If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow
That it's one thing to try and another to fly
You get there quicker just a step at a time
It's one thing to bark, another to bite
The show ain't over till you pack up at night

I have the master plates yea.

I've G2G'd from master jars with pins before, just not as many (or as mature.. the one in the photo has an open cap). Just wondering if the larger pins/ fruits will cause a problem in the spawn bags or not.
Only 4 out of the 12 have pins but they are clones I really wanna test out so if its okay Id prefer to use these.

I think Il do both. Ill use these as grain masters, but Ill start new grain masters too just in case to be safe.

I guess you could knock the jar to break up the grain and detach the fruit then tip the jar so the fruits are right at the lid and if you wanted to be really disciplined you could use a flamed scalpel or fork but I would just tip the fruit to the top of the jar then whip em out with my fingers.

They won't be able to rot if they stay sterile... They'll just turn to mycelium. Unless contamination touches them they don't rot just shrivel up

Thanks man that's all I was wondering. Ive done it with masters that started to pin and had very small fruits but none this big.

These masters are real nice and clean as far as I can see and as far as the clones go they look like theyre gunna be quite nice- if theyre potent too
