A coincidence white people are just now rallying behind slogans like "take our country back?"
A coincidence of what made the US into the superpower it is? No. Why ruin a proven winning formula? Do you really think flooding the US/EU with third world people is going to maintain that status quo? No, we will just turn into 2nd world status as people like yourself can celebrate "cultural diversity" as we go backwards.

Merkel tells Erdogan death penalty not compatible with EU membership http://in.reuters.com/article/turkey-security-germany-idINKCN0ZY1B5
Not that they'd ever get in anyway...
Democracy is like a train, he said; you get off once you have reached your destination. Education is another field in which the party’s ideological bent is increasingly evident. As mayor of Istanbul, Mr Erdogan once said he would like every state school to become an imam hatip, a vocational high school with an emphasis on religious training. When such schools first opened in the 1950s, the idea was to supply mosques with preachers. When the AK party took power, they accounted for barely 2% of Turkey’s students. Following a series of reforms, that proportion has risen fivefold, to more than 1m students. Some 1,500 non-religious schools have been converted to imam hatips. Thanks to a well-endowed charity run by Mr Erdogan’s son, these schools are often better equipped than ordinary state ones. Some parents now find they have no choice.

Weird how 100 years ago unskilled immigrants were what made our nation the great melting pot it is.
What changed?

In the case of Mexicans I guess people perceive they don't come here to become a part of the society - they come to make money and send it home.
Whether or not that's entirely true, or only partially I'm not sure.

The fact that you give credence to the idea that it might be "entirely true" says a lot.

The US isn't "the great melting pot" that you make it out to be, bringing in immigrants from the same region, with the same religion, with the same values, with the same genetics isn't such a "melting pot".
"What changed?"
Bringing in unskilled third world people into an advanced economy that already has a surplus of labor that is mandated to provide social services for everyone inside of the country. That's what changed!
The US needed the immigrants of 100 years ago, today we do NOT need hardly any immigrants for any reason.

i've known/worked with quite a few Vietnamese people who came to this country only for education and work, many of them leaving their wives/families. They would send back as much of their paycheck as they could while maintaining a barely-above impoverished lifestyle in the US.
granted, they were paying taxes, and then paying fees to transfer the money to Vietnam.
that being said, what's true in some situations is certainly not true in all situations

Well I know for a fact it literally isn't I suppose
But is it 60% true? 80%?
At certain statistical point it for most intensive purposes is 'entirely true'

Yeah, illegals don't send any money home, it's all spent here paying taxes and paying for goods and services that "make our economy stronger!"

Sure, when you milk the taxpayer dry there's plenty of money to send to Mexico, that wall is getting higher everyday.
